Hey again everyone, Jacob here!
The Hub update is finally here, allowing you to easily fast-travel between previously visited areas to further explore and find collectables - specifically tons of dofs that will be permanently stored in your ship!
This update introduces the HUB! It is currently relatively empty and not so interactable, but it's a first step towards that story AMICA. It's the place where you will be able to interact with your crewmates, store collectables, and perhaps upgrade and change power-ups in the future?
For now it functions as the main connecting hub between areas, and as storage for your collected dofs. We do have bigger plans for the HUB as previously mentioned, so if you have any feedback or wishes for what else could be added in the future, feel free to let us know!
And yes, this game takes place in Sector 5, future Brazil bby <3

The world of AMICA has been updated with new and polished textures, decorations, improvements to game feel and more! Get prepped to explore these refurbished areas and discover a total of SIX new dofs that have been scattered across the game! (Is this a hub or a kennel??)

WORLD
Added The Hub ship! This is a new, recurring area where SID can sit back, relax, and inspect all of the dofs he has been rescuing from across the world. This area is fitted with all new decorations, music, lighting, textures and more. Go explore your new home!
Six new dofs have escaped into the world! Rescue them and bring them back to the hub, that's an order!
Added an indestructible metal crate. Maybe its presence indicates something of note?
Improved the Jungle and Mines with new decorations and textures.
Improved how level transition messages are handled.
WEAPONS
Improved animations for the Converter's secondary attack. This may cause the little nanobots to sometimes be interrupted by level geometry. Fix is pending.
Fixed a problem where a few pellets were missing from the Highwiper primary attack. Literal rookie mistake I am so sorry.
The Highwiper secondary projectile now scales its ammo consumption and projectile count based on its charge. Finally.
Added a shell ejection effect to the Highwiper. Similar changes are pending for more weapons.
Fixed a problem where the secondary railgun projectile would cause damage to its first target twice.
Added the previously introduced Ace flash to the Converter and the Railgun, and improved its visual flare.
Major improvements to how player view height is calculated in weapons, now applying to all projectiles, hitscan attacks, particles and other visual effects.
Removed all damage randomization.
EFFECTS & AUDIO
Added sound effects to drops (shoutout Arlen Grace <3).
Added and improved multiple additional sound effects.
Improved multiple visual effects including the entity damage flash (I figured out colour translations. Yay!)
Improved the player damage effect.
Added a respawn prompt on player death.

There is definitely more content to come, but for now we'll be taking a short break from working on AMICA (just about two weeks we promise, we'll be back before the end of the year with more progress and maybe even a minor update). We're actually working on something really special that we think you might like :)
