Problematic changes
Problematic v1.0.0.3: The Stability Update
Thanks for every report since launch. We read them all, even the ones written in pure grief.
This is a big one.
The Card Game: Judge Game-Mode
Steal Card now actually steals cards. Previously, it was more of a polite gesture.
Power-up announcements no longer pile on top of each other like a séance gone wrong. One dramatic reveal at a time.
HAND ME rounds now actually award the double points they promised. The economy of suffering is restored.
Dead Weight now punishes losers during dual verdict rounds too. Equality.
House Rules now do exactly what their text says. The game was quietly enforcing rules nobody was told about. Very on brand, but now very fixed.
The Grimoire now opens about 3 rounds in 10, so a cursed round stays an event instead of a lifestyle.
The Problematic Deck is now the default. It is the name of the game. We still don't know why it wasn't.
Fixed drawn cards occasionally not showing up in your hand. They were real. They believed in you.
Online, Hardened
Fixed a family of rare freezes where one lost packet could trap the whole lobby in eternal purgatory: Joker rounds, Banishment rounds, Séance and Lottery verdicts, and the reveal getting stuck for one unlucky soul on hotel Wi-Fi. The game now notices missing cards and re-deals them within seconds.
Fixed the Rematch button sometimes leaving one player stranded on the end screen, watching, waiting, forgotten. Everyone follows the host into the next game now.
Fixed players becoming ghosts to each other after a rough connection. Chat, voice, and card plays could silently vanish. Ghosts belong on the cards.
Fixed backing out of a join at the wrong moment leaving you secretly connected to the lobby with a live microphone. Yes, really. Whatever they heard, we apologize.
Dozens of smaller reconnection fixes, battle-tested in matches simulated at 20% packet loss, which is to say, worse internet than yours.
The Bots Learned Manners
Bots no longer slam cards down the millisecond a round starts. They read the prompt, ponder their sins, and submit like people.
Bot judges now study the table for a proper moment before crowning a winner, so everyone gets to read the answers before they become history.
Chess: Hard Mode Is No Longer Just Hard
Hard now runs on a brand new native engine that calculates more than ten moves deep. It defends its pieces, castles with intent, and remembers what you did four turns ago. Bring a plan. Bring a will.
Easy and Mid are untouched, so the ladder still starts friendly.
The ESC menu in Chess no longer offers card game settings to people playing chess.
Housekeeping
How to Play now covers the entire game: the Grimoire, the Secret Rule, Predictions, Sudden Death, drawing cards, and the SUMMON chess mode. Reading it is optional. Losing without reading it is traditional.
Update to keep playing with friends.
See you at the table.
