Repeated intro
Hello, privateers!
What changed
- Gameplay
Starting this month, I’ve decided to post regular monthly updates to keep you informed about the project’s current state and what to expect going forward. I hope this format helps both of us stay on the same page 🚀
📅 Roadmap & What’s Coming
At the beginning of the month, I outlined a two-year development roadmap. The main goal for now is the demo version, which will include:
a small explorable section of space,
core gameplay mechanics: boarding, space combat, a few quests,
random encounters while traveling — you’ll be able to meet other ships, trade, or fight.
🔧 Reviving the Code
I’ve returned to the old version of the project and began isolating the mechanics I’ll be focusing on first. The plan is to reimplement:
boarding mechanics: melee combat, ranged weapons, suits and gear;
open space traversal and combat — via jetpacks and starfighters;
cruiser control — basic movement, navigation, and ship-to-ship battles.
I’ll be covering each of these systems in more detail in upcoming updates.
🧑🚀 Meet the Captain
To show something concrete this time, here’s a first look at the player character — the ship’s captain. You’ll be able to choose gender and hairstyle. There won’t be deep visual customization like in AAA titles, but I believe this level of personalization should be enough for immersion and a strong role-playing feel.
Thanks for following the development! I’d love to hear your feedback. If the game looks interesting, feel free to wishlist it — it really helps! See you next month — and good luck among the stars 🌌
