What changed
- Gameplay
As you may have noticed, we now have a special icon for our Devlogs with a joke inside (you could say, it's practically a single-frame comic)! But we also have other things to share with you today.
30,000 wishlists
Not too long ago, we celebrated a very important milestone—25,000 wishlists on Steam. And in the blink of an eye, we've passed the 30,000 mark! Our recent trailer has been added to YouTube recommendations, garnering over 100,000 views in just one week.
We've received a tremendous amount of super-motivating feedback, and now even more people are waiting for the release of Princess Hunter. Thank you all for your support and trust!
Keeper of the Cold Spring
Those of you who follow our project on Reddit, X, or elsewhere, know that we drew this character last year. But now he's actually in the game!
Lota's age is anyone's guess, as are his real thoughts. Despite his youthful appearance, he remembers Wyrdwood long before the arrival of Crimson King's hordes. His smile is more than just cold—it is icy!
Level building
Although Princess Hunter looks like a cartoon, it is not as flat as it may seem. Frankly speaking, what you see is actually somewhere between a traditional 2D image and a 3D scene. This is called 2.5D, and it allows for deeper levels and opens up a lot of new possibilities… but it also creates just as many problems when building a level.
To make life easier for level designers, our programmer has created a level building toolkit. Each scene now has several separate depth layers where you can sort objects both manually and automatically. In addition, it is now more convenient to plot the character's path. And for more thorough testing, it is possible to change the time scale by either speeding it up or slowing it down.
