addedWe would like your feedback on whether or not we should use a NEW Cell Shading style for the Prince of Suburbia Re-Impregnation DLC. If you didn't already know, Auxiliaryout is back and will be working on the Prince of Suburbia Re-Impregnation DLC . We're thinking about using auxiliaryout's New Cell Shading style (like he has been using for his game, Her Last Piece ).
addedBelow is a comparison for Catherine . The NEW Cell Shading style is on the left (post-pregnancy) and the OLD Semi-Realistic style is on the right (pre-pregnancy).
addedNOTE: The "thicker" post-pregnancy look will be applied to characters for the OLD Semi-Realistic style sprites if we keep it too. It's not exclusive to the new style.
changedStyle has already changed with the Pregnancy DLC so things will be a little different regardless for the remaining DLC
addedand in the comments if you like the NEW Cell Shading style or would rather keep the OLD Semi-Realistic style for the Prince of Suburbia Re-Impregnation DLC.

Pros:

  • Faster than the style currently used in the main story of PoS

  • Doesn't require as much time to ramp back up on the original style that was used which would delay the DLC development

  • It's novel and more fun for us. This is a style that we hope/plan to use for future 2D games as well so it would be nice to keep on with it

Neutral:

  • Style has already changed with the Pregnancy DLC so things will be a little different regardless for the remaining DLC

Cons:

  • Lack of 100% consistency from the main story art
