Primus Numen changes
Welcome to the first ever Primus Numen devlog!
A totally normal behind-the-scenes look at an indie dev who definitely has everything under control and is not working 16 hours a day, talking to himself, and arguing with invisible demons inside Blueprint graphs.
Let’s begin.
The First Battle Map Exists!
After many hours of carefully hand-placing glowing floor tiles, torches, and suspicious fog, I can officially say:
The dungeon looks awesome… until you turn the camera 3 degrees and the lighting decides to go to hell.
But overall? Moody. Atmospheric.
A perfect place to get stabbed by a whisper ghost thing.
Combat System Progress
The Knight, Mage, and Archer now move, attack, complain, and miss their attacks just like real JRPG heroes.
We even added called shots:
Aim for the head → more crit, more shame when you miss
Aim for the arm → reduce enemy damage
Aim for the leg → ruin their day AND their movement
Great fun until you realise the enemies can do it too.
Transformations?
Yes.
Your party can combine into a baby Bahamut.
No, I will not explain the lore right now.
Just know it involves friendship, destiny, and probably workplace safety violations.
Bug of the Week
This week’s winner:
“All tiles say TILEBLOCKED even though nothing is blocking them.”
This happens because the game temporarily forgets what a unit is.
Relatable.
What’s Next
Finish skills
Animate everything
Add a demon boss who politely roasts you from long range
Fix the part where enemies sprint on the spot like they’re warming up for a marathon
And then…
THE DEMO.
Wishlist now to fuel my development-addicted brain.
Seriously, each wishlist is like giving me a microdose of hope.
