We’ve created a stunning Ceratosaurus skin, designed by Sowathun from our community skin contest that has been made Customizable using a new shader for our Ceratosaurus, and I am now putting the final touches on our Arcane Backer Skin for our generous donors.

changedGorilla WorkshopI have been working on giving Achillobator some locomotion animations, starting with ground locomotion. Currently the idle, trot, and sprint animations are complete, as well as the sprint variants (turn left and turn right). My favorite part so far has been working with the head feathers, making them bob and bounce as the head moves is adorable and quite satisfying.
changedGorilla WorkshopAchillobator will be able to climb, so look forward to seeing these nimble beasts both stalking the plains and the canopies! The climbing animations will be the next up on the production line. I look forward to sharing the climbing animations with you all next Devlog! Until then, we'll be hard at work making this game awesome.

Hello Anomalies,

This past month has been a whirlwind of excitement, thanks to our rapid progress and your incredible support! We're thrilled to kick off our Steam Dev Logs with some exciting updates that you won't want to miss!

First up, I’ve been diving into Substance Painter, and it’s already paying off. We’ve created a stunning Ceratosaurus skin, designed by Sowathun from our community skin contest that has been made Customizable using a new shader for our Ceratosaurus, and I am now putting the final touches on our Arcane Backer Skin for our generous donors.

Thank you to everyone who has stood by us and supported us with your generous contributions!

In my corner this is the month of the Achillobator!

I have been working on giving Achillobator some locomotion animations, starting with ground locomotion. Currently the idle, trot, and sprint animations are complete, as well as the sprint variants (turn left and turn right). My favorite part so far has been working with the head feathers, making them bob and bounce as the head moves is adorable and quite satisfying.

Achillobator will be able to climb, so look forward to seeing these nimble beasts both stalking the plains and the canopies! The climbing animations will be the next up on the production line. I look forward to sharing the climbing animations with you all next Devlog! Until then, we'll be hard at work making this game awesome.

M-Z

  • Sound Designer

Again this month, I've been working a lot on the Achillobator, Lufengosaurus and Foley sounds in the game, such as:

-Body Impacts -Footsteps -Attack effects

And I'm still starting to work on the game's ambience and immersion sounds, which are very important.

  • Modeller

I've been quietly chipping away at the bases for our upcoming animals!

Next in line to be sculpted is our oddball Koolasuchus, the base for which was already shared, so today I bring you exciting early glimpses at the reworked Anzu, as well as Pachyrhino.

Parkos, M-Z and I have been working on something very special. Can't spoil much, so here's a screenshot.

Edrian

  • 3D Artist

It's been a hot minute since I spoken in dev-logs but as of writing this, I have been quietly working on the Pachycephalosaurus (Friar Tuck) as it is all coming together. By the next dev log or two, I'll be ready with Anzu and Pachyrhino by then as Friar Tuck will have the retopology finished by then. Plus had to do certain areas to allow morphs and growth stage to be easily possible within the animal, so look forward to that!

Now that is "bonkers"! (Ok time to never cook again)

Hello everyone! I'm excited to share my work on one of the alien structures. I aimed to design something that is both elegant and imposing, while subtly hinting at the underlying lore of this mysterious world.

Looking ahead, I plan to dive even deeper into this project by creating concept art for the environments of Primeval Horizon. This next phase is incredibly exciting and I can't wait to share more of my work and progress with you all in the future!

Torvo now has a basic rig, more work to be done on it (Slit eyes are temporary)

Mickael

  • Programmer

Right now I've done the code for stats, fracture, health, bleed, hunger, thirst, stamina, using GAS. I've done the code for Basic Attacks. I need to do the other types of attack, test everything and make it easier to apply to new dinosaurs! I haven't added ragdoll for dead bodies, nor did I setup fall damage yet but it is planned. Adding slots for sounds/UI and VFX/Decal on everything is also to be done. (Eye Stretching Rig issue is being fixed)
