changedWhat? So, here's Presto!, the product of over a year of solo game development that is finally ready get on the main stage and have a spotlight shone on it. Inspired by such classics as Banjo Kazooie, Spyro The Dragon, and, to some extent, the Sonic Adventure games, Presto! attempts to bring back the magic of these childhood classics in an experience that aims to please both retro and modern gamers.
changedThe game currently stands on a solid foundation, a 'vertical slice' to put it simply. Very soon (pending the review process), a public Playtest will launch where you will be able to try an early build of the game. The build contains a fully-playable level , a complete tutorial level, and a little interactive title screen area to goof around in. This Playtest will serve the purpose of getting the basic impression of the game, and see if it's something people are happy to see finished, or if it still needs more time in the oven. All feedback will be reviewed and considered, and so your input will be greatly appreciated and impactful. Following the playtest, we plan to launch a Kickstarter campaign! Now, with the foundation of the game already being rather solid, the campaign will mainly focus on gathering development costs so that I can basically finish making the rest of the game. All the core mechanics are in place, there are plenty more mechanics already functioning behind-the-scenes and just waiting to be used in future levels, and I have a pretty efficient work pipeline to use to get the rest of the game done in good time (though always anticipate set-backs). Also note, the Music and Sound of the game is in active production , and will be integrated soon.
changedI am Yan, a solo developer that has had a hand in all areas of game development, from programming, to level design, 3D modelling. Most of my official work has been with Chubby Pixel, and then all my spare time has gone on personal projects, and now, Presto! Handling the Community Management side of things is my lovely fiancée, Celeste, so be sure to keep an eye on this discussion forum and all our socials for her posts and updates! On the music and sound side of things is my close friend, and I can't wait to show off what they've been cooking for Presto!

Why?
Retro-style 3D platformers aren't all too common, and this is a type of game that I've always wanted to make. Now that I have the experience that I need to make this dream come true, I've done exactly that. I know I'm not alone in wishing that there were more games like Presto!, Cavern Of Dreams, and Yooka Laylee out and about, so I went and decided to make one. I'm extremely happy with how the game's already coming along, and the current state of the game is only getting better with each passing day of development.
When??

So?
And so, now that the ball is rolling (haha, Presto! -exclusive joke), I'm excited to see how this adventure goes. I hope that everyone that has wished for a game like Presto! finds out about it, and we can all experience this journey together and make it the best 3D retro-inspired collectathon out there! Here's to Presto! -Yan
