changedMid Run Joining for Standard modeWe now added the previously beta feature of joining mid run (aka in the cave) into the main game. You can now invite people from the pause menu or let them join normally during the run. The host will get a popup for the join request and when accepted it will restart the current cave at the last hydrant . We know this is not ideal but the best we can do for now without a bigger rework.

We are now Steam Deck verified!

We have been working on quite a few things and are bundling them into this 1.1 patch. It includes quite a few bugfixes as well as the following:

Mid Run Joining for Standard mode

We now added the previously beta feature of joining mid run (aka in the cave) into the main game. You can now invite people from the pause menu or let them join normally during the run. The host will get a popup for the join request and when accepted it will restart the current cave at the last hydrant. We know this is not ideal but the best we can do for now without a bigger rework.

Intel GPU crash fix

It took some time to buy an Intel GPU and fix the driver issues but we now have a workaround for some Intel GPUs crashing.

Leaderboard verification

With this update we added the option for us to validate the legitimacy of a weekly challenge run to spot cheaters.

Ready for modding

We've disabled the package encryption to make mod development easier. If you want to create mods and need additional features or help - join our Discord and let us know!

Performance improvements

We improved the performance of the world generation, especially for the Ice Cave. We are still trying to track down a bug where the FPS drops to single digits though (if you have more information on that - please let us know).

Pausing

We are now pausing the worm and bats when all players have the pause menu open.

However it will not pause the time for achievements or the weekly challenge as that would require a bigger change.

Push To Talk

Since some players reported issues with the push to talk feature of Steam, we now added a separate push to talk button (ALT) to the game. It's remappable in the options.

We are working on our own Voice Chat implementation to have an alternative to Steam In-Game Voice but it's not quite ready yet.

Upcoming: Difficulty modes

We are working on adding difficulty modes to improve replayability. After you finish the game once you will have access to the first of multiple progressively harder difficulties. Obviously there will be rewards for every difficulty!

From the beginning you will be able to select Easy and Peaceful that still grant achievements!

Upcoming: Network Connection Improvements

We are still gathering feedback from the network_beta branch! As this is a bigger rework we want to make sure that this actually improves the network connection.

If you are having network connection issues - please give the network_beta branch a try and let us know if that improved your experience <3
