Polyville Canyon v1.2.0 is now available and includes a number of updates, most notably the new Quick Road system!
You've spoken, and I've heard...placing roads tile by tile was a bit frustrating for some players, so a lot of effort has gone into making them much easier to place. The tile-by-tile system is still in place for those little detailed areas you want to build out, but for long stretches of road, it's a simple clickity-click and you're done!
CREATING Here's a peek at how this new system works:
Select the "Quick Roads" item from the Roads category in the Item Catalog
Rotate the road in the direction you'd like to build. Rotate until the arrow is pointing in the correct direction by clicking with the mouse scroll-wheel or the "R" and "T" keys
Click to place the 'starting point' of the road, then move to where you want the end and click again
Dragging across perpendicular roads will automatically create intersections (corners, three-ways, and four-ways)
Right-click to dismiss the Quick Road tool, just like any other item
DELETING You can also delete long stretches or road by following the same steps above but while holding down the [ SHIFT ] key
Deleting with this method will recreate the appropriate intersections
IMPORTANT NOTE! -- Quick Roads are only available for NEW GAMES! --
If you are in the middle of Story mode and would like to complete it before starting a new game, just hit CONTINUE from the Main Menu as normal. The new Quick Road system will not be available to you until you begin a new game.
If you're in the middle of a Story mode playthrough, but would like to check out the new Quick Roads system, start a new Sandbox mode. The two modes are independent, so using Quick Roads in Sandbox mode will not affect your Story mode save.
ADDITIONAL INFO
Quick Roads cannot be built over water
Quick Roads will not auto-create bridges or paths
You can still select individual road tiles to place or delete. When using this method, intersections are NOT automatic, so you will need to replace individual tiles
