This will most likely be the last major update before the full game release. GAME CHANGES:

  • Lonelight is now POLLYANNA! The title change is meant to reflect how the game has evolved beyond my initial vision since the start of development.

  • Added a secret side quest to expand on the lore of the lab and to provide a harder challenge for those who beat the Caretaker with ease...

  • Added a new guidelines segment where you can freely explore a rabbit hole down the robot's mind.

  • Added a cool new surprise for those who dare to explore a bit further into the lab...

PLAYER CHANGES:

  • Dash Cooldown: 1s >>> 0.8s

  • Added more keybind options, now you can:

> MOVE using: Arrows, WASD

> DASH using: Shift, Z, L

> SLASH using: Left Click, X, K

> SMASH using: Right Click, J, C

> INTERACT/CONFIRM using: Enter, Space

ROOM CHANGES:

  • Some security bots have been removed from the Southern Lab area.

  • Musical track "Testing Grounds" only starts playing at Room006 now.

  • Added ambient noise to some rooms that were previously silent.

  • For the sake of better storytelling, most NPCs have been removed from the Southern Lab area (you'll see them again, don't worry).

  • Barriers have been added to the intro sequence to ensure players interact with the orbs.

  • Added some more decoration to the Guidelines sequences.

  • Expanded the lab further towards the end of the demo.

UI CHANGES:

  • In-game HUD scale: 1.0 >>> 1.3

  • Added some flair to the dialogue box and HP bar.

  • HP icon changed.

  • Light Level font changed.

OTHER CHANGES:

  • The following musical tracks have been remade/reworked:

> 04. Acrolein Eyes [previously "Overwhelming"]

> 05. Behind the Cornea [previously "Ballad of the Beyond"]

  • NEW MUSIC HAS BEEN ADDED! These are the new tracks I made for the secret side quest and for the guidelines expansion:

> "Velvet Tantrum"

> "Osaka Drummer"

Good luck finding them and I hope you enjoy them!

  • The start menu has been reworked.

  • Minor dialogue tweaks.

  • Lighting tweaks (game should feel a little darker now).

  • Intro sequence orbs collider size increased.

  • CORA's dialogue has been reworked.

BUG FIXES:

  • Room skipping should no longer be an issue (I think? It's a bit hard to test by myself)

  • "New Game" button now working as intended.

  • Enemies no longer cause player to noclip into unintended areas.

  • Dash Barriers no longer stop the player when dashed into mid-animation.

  • Room013D sprite ordering fixed

WHEN WILL IT GO LIVE?

All these changes go live next month when the demo re-releases. I still don't have a specific date in mind because there's still some more things that need to be implemented and then tested.
