Politica: Nothing Ideological. It's Just Business changes
Manual
Welcome to the treacherous world of Italian politics in the 1980s, where lobbying skills can determine the fate of laws and your own personal success. Are you ready to become the most influential lobbyist of the time? Follow this guide carefully to master the arts of power and intrigue.
Missions The heart of your work as a lobbyist is to push forward the demands of the PAC (Political Action Committee), who wish to pass or abolish laws in line with their preferences. Each assigned mission has a specific goal to achieve. When you accept a mission you will be given an initial fee and a number of actions to try to get the required result. If you successfully complete the mission you will also be given the final reward. On the contrary, if you have not been able to achieve the required result by the deadline you will have to pay a heavy penalty.
Legislative procedure To pass a law, you must first get it on the calendar and then get the favorable vote of the two parliamentary chambers: the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate. Remember that some laws may be disadvantaged at first and require your intervention to be approved.
Acquisition of Favors To influence MPs and secure their vote, you need to earn favors. You can do this by developing good relations with individual parliamentarians, funding their election campaigns, or spying on them, obtaining incriminating information to blackmail them. Be smart to get this information and use it with caution.
Political Parties and Ideologies The MPs are divided into five political parties: two of the right, one of the center and two of the left. Know their positions and adopt different strategies to get their support, depending on your needs. Each party, PAC or parliamentarian will have their own position on:
Economy
Social and Rights
Foreign policy
Although each Member will have positions similar to those of the reference party, it is not uncommon for him to think differently on some issues.
Elections Elections will be held annually, renewing both the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate. Some Members can be reconfirmed, while others will return to their old lives. Let's hope friends will always remain.
Progression of the Game Advance through missions, accumulate wealth and influence, and build your own lobbying empire. Measure your skills and become the dominant lobbyist of the period.
