Summary

The first content update for POLARIS™ is here!

Thank you so much to everyone who has experienced POLARIS™ already during launch week. Your passion and enthusiasm for the game has been so rewarding. And I've really enjoyed interacting with many of you in the official POLARIS™ Discord community:

https://discord.gg/polarispve

As a thank you for all the love you've shown the game, we'd like to share our first content update, which we're referring to as Beacon.

The big ticket additions are:

🐍 Burrowing Devastator Rigs!

The Regime Engineering Corps have performed fresh topographical scans of allied settlements in the Free Worlds and their Devastator drilling rigs pose a greater threat than ever before.

With detailed analysis of the geological composition of all terrain in the vicinity of our evacuated cities, we can expect Devastators to be more bold than ever in how they tear their way through the landscapes of our idyllic home worlds.

Furthermore, the Regime has deployed a variety of new Devastator classes, ranging from smaller scout vehicles to huge behemoth drilling rigs.

Show them no mercy. Take the fight to the Regime and obliterate any of the serpentine Devastators you encounter.

✨ Personal Teleport Beacons!

We've added an all new deployable item to the Requisition system - the Teleport Beacon! Teleport Beacons are unlocked by default and cost no Requisition Tokens to deploy. Summon a Teleport Beacon into the level and by referring to your team health status in the bottom left of the HUD, you'll be able to instantly teleport to the beacon's location once it has landed.

Previously it was only possible to teleport to the locations of team members in multiplayer. Now point-to-point teleportation is available in single player too. Plus the feature works across the game, adding new tactical opportunities however you choose to take the fight to the Regime.

We hope you enjoy!

📈 New Rebalanced Difficulty Levels!

Where once there were only 10 difficulties levels, now there are 15!

Early player feedback has revealed that many of you have been struggling with the solo experience, even at low difficulties. To compensate for this we've rebalanced the difficulties entirely, adding a broader range of difficulty options and more choice in terms of how you calibrate your experience to your skill level and preferred playing style.

And even in multiplayer, the lower difficulty levels can provide a pleasurable and relaxing experience for groups to chill out together and casually complete objectives without the stress and intensity of the higher levels.

But for Skylancers who favour a real challenge, test your metal with the new difficulty levels 11 to 15.

Fortune favours the bold. To battle!

🩹 Plus an array of bug fixes and minor improvements!

You've been hard at work sharing your feedback in the Discord channel and on the Steam discussion pages and we've been paying attention to every note, comment, screenshot, and video you've shared.

We've made a range of stability and performance improvements, bug fixes small and large, laid the foundations for future updates, and polished up a few weaker areas here and there.

But hopefully, with your support, this is only the beginning. We already have plans for improvements and additions. Expect more updates in the days ahead.

See you amongst the clouds, Skylancers!
