PocketCiv changes
After releasing PocketCiv to Early Access, we’ve gotten some great feedback and we’re pleased to release this rather large update, including several new features and plenty quality of life improvements.
First and foremost – yes, PocketCiv is brutally unforgiving! With that in mind, we’ve added an Easy Game Mode. When playing the Easy Game, about 1/3 of drawn Events will be skipped. Give it a try and let us know what you think!
No more counting City AV!
The Advances bar now shows empty slots for each Advance you can acquire based on your current City AV.
Improved clarity of Events!
During Events, the Help Card for that Event will appear over the Event Deck, allowing you to read through the description while the event plays out, without opening the Help Menu. Additionally, the full event description is added to the log when the event begins.
Tool-tips!
Nearly all the UI icons and tokens now have tool-tips. This feature can be disabled in the settings menu.
Leaderboards!
All the Scenarios, and the Standard game have leaderboards for Highest Glory gained. Try to get the highest score!

NEW FEATURES
• Easy Game Mode • Hotkeys: Space to continue, Q to undo, Tab to open / close the log window, E to open / close the Tech Tree • The Advances bar shows how many more Advances the player can Acquire (based on their current City AV / Advances acquired) • During Events, the Help Card for the Event will appear over the Event Deck, allowing the player to read about the Event without opening the Help Menu • Tool-tips added for most icons and all game tokens (can be disabled in settings) • Leaderboards: Highest Glory for all Scenarios and the Standard Game • Gameplay tips added to the loading screen
IMPROVEMENTS
• Tribes (or any other tokens) will never spawn behind the region flag • Improved logging during events • When an Advance affects the outcome of an Event, it is highlighted • The list of Events on Event Cards can be clicked to open the Help Menu for that Event • Most icons in the game can be clicked to open the Help Menu to the relevant section • Most button in the game can be long pressed to open the Help Menu to the relevant section • Added the option to start Tutorials from the Free Play / Challenge sections (players can skip the Tutorial text)
FIXES
• Fixed music looping the same track instead of switching to the next track • Fixed bug that occasionally caused Tutorial 5 to be unfinishable • Fixed bug in Tutorial 3 where the Engineering card was blocking Tech Tree view • Fixed map art for the Standard Game Rules Card • Fixed a few bugs which blocked the game during Anarchy Events
