changed*COMMUNITY CONTEST WINNER** We have the winner of our first "FORGE YOUR WEAPON" contest! * Winner Name: 404 * Weapon: Flint & Lock * Archetype: Critical Hit, Dash * How to get it: You can unlock it at The Pile before starting a run.
added*NEW GAME MODE: MADNESS** * Compete on a brand new global leaderboard. * Use custom modifiers to multiply your score and outrank other infected. * Experience pure chaos: everything is completely randomized, from bosses and enemies to weapons and power-ups.
added*NEW NPC: THE ASSISTANT** * Added a brand new NPC to the hub. This charming lady, formerly the Doctor's assistant, is here to help. * You can now spend your extra Clots at The Pile to start your next run with some pre-run power-ups. * This is extremely useful to survive the absurd difficulty curve of the Madness mode, and a perfect way to burn through those extra Clots you have been hoarding!
changed*VISUAL & UI OVERHAUL** * Reworked tilesets for a cleaner look. * Upgraded background visuals and combat effects. * Completely overhauled the User Interface. * Improved the in-game dialogue system to make interactions smoother.
added*BALANCING & TWEAKS** * Weapon tweaks: Several weapons have been buffed or nerfed (there were a lot of them, I honestly lost track, just try them out!). * Economy changes: The cost of unlockable weapons at The Pile has been significantly reduced. We plan to add future Contest weapons here, so this will make it much easier to buy and test new gear. * Boss tuning: The health pools of certain bosses have been recalibrated for a fairer fight.
added*CLOUD SAVES & DATA MIGRATION** * We finally implemented Cloud Saves! Your progress, unlocks, and hard-earned Clots are now backed up. * Save Migration: Because of this new system, your old local save files will automatically migrate to the cloud the first time you boot up the game. * WARNING: We tested this thoroughly, but moving data is always tricky. If the infection somehow corrupts your files during the transfer and you lose your progress, please report it to us immediately! Let us know and we will look into it right away.

What does this update bring to the table? A damn good start, that's what!

**BUG FIXING & OPTIMIZATION** We squashed a literal mountain of bugs, mostly thanks to your reports over the past few months (yes, we actually read them). I can't list them all, but here are the main ones: * Fixed an issue that prevented certain types of projectiles from firing. * Fixed the object pooling system for enemies so they spawn correctly. * Fixed the object pooling system for various projectiles. * Fixed an annoying bug that randomly stopped your weapon from shooting at all. * Fixed controller support issues so gamepads work as intended. * Fixed specific projectiles like Wandering Souls and Sacrificial Bullets failing to trigger. * Massive performance boost: We improved overall performance for enemies and projectiles by rewriting a proper pathfinding system and doing a bunch of other boring nerd stuff behind the scenes.
