Pizza Syndicate changes
We’d like to be completely transparent about the current situation surrounding this game, as we ware from the beginning in the Forum/Discussion section.
The technical work is fully completed. The porting process itself was finished back in mid-2025, and from a technical standpoint, everything went smoothly. The game is fully functional on modern PCs and ready for release.
However, the only thing preventing a release is IP ownership.
Despite extensive research and months of outreach, we have been unable to definitively identify or contact the rightful IP owner. We reached out to over 50 individuals during 2024 and 2025. Based on everything we’ve uncovered so far, Assemble Entertainment appears to be the most likely IP holder, but repeated attempts to reach them over several months have gone completely unanswered.
To be clear: Our goal has never been monetization. This project exists purely as a preservation effort —to ensure that this game can continue to exist and be playable on modern systems.
Unfortunately, the IP situation surrounding this title is extremely unclear. We contacted multiple potential rights holders, received partial feedback, and even encountered a bad-faith actor who falsely claimed ownership and presented forged documents. Every legitimate avenue we could think of has been explored, without success.
As a last attempt, we published a Steam storefront page in the hope that the rightful IP owner would come forward after seeing the game listed. That did not happen.
After further investigation, we once again circled back to Assemble Entertainment as the most probable IP holder—but we still have no response.
As things stand today:
The game is fully ported and ready
There is no agreement with an IP holder
We still do not know who legally owns the rights
Because of this, the outlook for a release is unfortunately not very good at the moment.
At this point, there is only one alternative path if the IP owner cannot be identified or contacted: - a complete IP rebuild on our end. This would mean recreating the game’s identity from scratch—new name, branding, assets, and any IP-dependent elements—while preserving the core gameplay and experience. This is a much larger undertaking and far from our preferred solution, but it may be the only viable way to bring the game to players if the IP situation remains unresolved.
This is why we’re turning to the community.
If anyone has information —even rumors, old contacts, former developers, publishers, or industry connections—that could help clarify who owns the IP, please let us know. We will gladly follow up on any lead, no matter how small.
We genuinely want this game to live on. Any help is deeply appreciated. ❤️
