Pizza of the Gods changes
If you grew up during the 16-bit golden era, you probably remember the raw joy of playing classic Sega Genesis platformers like Quackshot, Castle of Illusion, World of Illusion, Aladdin, and Sonic. I spent my childhood obsessed with their unforgettable worlds.
When I set out to build Pizza of the Gods, I wanted something I would love to play and also pay tribute to those 90s memories, but with a completely fresh mechanical identity. Instead of choosing standard digital pixel art, we hand-drew all the characters and environments on actual paper using markers and acrylics before animating them.
Additionally, we have added a mechanism that lets you control two distinct characters, swapping between them during gameplay to make your way through Mount Olympus. We also layered in adventure elements inspired by classic point-and-click games like Discworld Noir.
After 4.5 years of development, the journey is almost complete. Pizza of the Gods is officially launching in 2026. Get your platforming hands ready, and join us on this wild, hand-drawn quest to deliver a pizza to Zeus!
