Pit Panic changes
The temple is sinking. Escape fast!
Dear brave pit climbers,
thank you for playing Pit Panic, reporting bugs, sharing feedback, and adding the game to your wishlist. Some of you climbed, some of you fell, and some of you found entirely new ways to break things. All of it genuinely helps us improve the demo and bring the full game closer to release.
The updated demo is available on Steam right now as part of Steam Next Fest, running from June 15 to June 22.
Play the updated Pit Panic demo on Steam
Pit Panic is a fast, chaotic, rogue-like 2D platformer about climbing out of a crumbling ancient temple. You will survive handmade levels, collect loot, trade lives for strange powers, fight bosses, and try very hard not to panic.
A noble goal. Not always a realistic one.
If that sounds like your kind of pain, joy, or emotional damage, the demo is ready for you. Every wishlist helps us bring Pit Panic closer to release.
What can you expect in the demo?
Fast arcade platforming with digging, climbing, jumping, hooks, bombs, traps, and questionable life choices.
Handcrafted levels built around speed, movement, timing, and environmental puzzles.
Weird items, dangerous upgrades, and powers that may or may not be worth the price.
Daily leaderboards for players who enjoy suffering competitively.
Bosses, secrets, hidden chambers, and plenty of ways to ruin a perfectly good run.
The demo has just been updated
This update focuses on gamepad controls, tutorial readability, UI feedback, movement polish, and bug fixes. The biggest change is a full rework of the gamepad control scheme.
We unified it into one clearer setup, fixed gamepad aiming issues, added a separate bindable action for item shooting, improved tutorial prompts, and polished several gameplay and UI interactions.
In short: fewer confusing buttons, clearer feedback, and slightly fewer ways to blame the controller. Still possible, of course. We are not here to take away tradition.
Play the demo and get a cheese hat in the full game
We added demo play detection. If you play the Pit Panic demo, the full game will remember it and reward you with a cheese hat.
This is not a metaphor. It is also not safety equipment.
Play, wishlist, and join us
If you enjoy the demo, the best way to support us is simple:
No pressure. Just a small ancient temple full of traps watching quietly.
