Pigeon: A Love Story changes
Version 1.2 of the demo is now live. It features a whole host of tweaks and improvements, many of them inspired by player feedback -- a sincere thank you to everyone who has tried the game so far. The full game will launch on August 6th. Until then, here's what's new in the demo:
Steam fixes
Steam Overlay now works!
Steam Input now works! This makes things like layout remapping easier for controller (and Steam Deck) players.
Gameplay - Small clue rework; useful clues now appear a little more frequently than less useful ones (the general words of encouragement).
A new rare "seed cluster" pickup, for bigger coo boosts when there are no landmarks nearby.
After completing the game, clues are now repurposed to guide you towards undiscovered landmarks.
Controls
Controls are now fully remappable in the settings menu for keyboard+mouse players, too.
Barrel roll! A new special move. Double tap in either direction to try it out.
You can now change altitude with the scroll wheel, or with E/Q (rooftop landing has moved to F).
Keyboard controls now automatically adapt to non-QWERTY layouts.
Multiplayer
Lots of general bugfixes and improvements here! It now feels closer in quality to the single player game.
Other players now animate fully, so things feel more dynamic.
Fixed bugs that let the other player drift out of view when they change altitude.
Wind direction now syncs across players, to keep things fair!
Other
Added Russian localization! With many thanks to Headbomb for making this happen.
Small visual tweaks: area names now appear on the map, and building textures have been refined.
Improvements to building collision detection! This is now both lighter and more accurate.
Many other performance improvements and bugfixes which are too small to mention, but important all the same. Have a nice flight!
