What changed

1 fix10 additions10 changes3 removals
  • UI and audio
  • Gameplay
  • Balance
  • Fixes
addedTooltipsIt seems the tooltips were causing a lot of confusion and were often unclear in explaining what an upgrade did. We've made some changes including better wording of upgrades, showing the metric the upgrade changes (eg. % or x) and gave them dynamic sizes based on the text that needs to fit inside. While we were at it we also made the tooltips less cluttered and added some colours to make them look pretty!
addedAbilitiesWe added pirate music to the broadside ability that can be triggered by dice, it was cool before but now it's even cooler.
addedAbilitiesThe Blocker ability is gone for good. Not really, but it's gone for now while we work out where it belongs in the game, we probably won't add it back to the demo.
changedUpgradesUpdated the cost of unlocking ore because it was too good for how much it cost previously.
removedUpgradesRemoved clicker damage upgrade because it essentially did nothing. It was a bit of an oversight to leave this one in the demo but based on feedback we'll likely remove it from the full game too.
addedTutorialWe got a lot of feedback about how slow the tutorial dwarf walks in and out and we've heard you. Although 900 years old, he's still got a spring in his step which is now reflected in the new tutorial animations.

Tooltips

It seems the tooltips were causing a lot of confusion and were often unclear in explaining what an upgrade did. We've made some changes including better wording of upgrades, showing the metric the upgrade changes (eg. % or x) and gave them dynamic sizes based on the text that needs to fit inside. While we were at it we also made the tooltips less cluttered and added some colours to make them look pretty!

Abilities

We've made some changes to a couple of abilities

  • Goblin sounded way more awesome than it really was. We've buffed it so goblin is now actually awesome. Go check it out!

  • We added pirate music to the broadside ability that can be triggered by dice, it was cool before but now it's even cooler.

  • The Blocker ability is gone for good. Not really, but it's gone for now while we work out where it belongs in the game, we probably won't add it back to the demo.

Upgrades

We've also made some changes to some upgrades

  • Updated the cost of unlocking ore because it was too good for how much it cost previously.

  • Removed clicker damage upgrade because it essentially did nothing. It was a bit of an oversight to leave this one in the demo but based on feedback we'll likely remove it from the full game too.

Tutorial

Just a small update to the tutorial we thought was worth mentioning

  • We got a lot of feedback about how slow the tutorial dwarf walks in and out and we've heard you. Although 900 years old, he's still got a spring in his step which is now reflected in the new tutorial animations.
