About a week ago, I opened the playtest to the first group of people who applied for access. The amount of feedback I received was incredible, and I’m really grateful to everyone who played the game and took the time to share their thoughts.
Since then, I’ve been hard at work improving the game based on that feedback and fixing a ton of bugs. If you’re interested, you’ll find a full list of changes below.
If you didn’t get access to the playtest the first time, don’t worry! I’m currently working on some great multiplayer features, as well as quality-of-life improvements and additions. I’ll be opening the playtest to everyone soon.
Here’s a list of the main changes:
Improved painting performance
Added keybind, sensitivity, and painting settings
Added the ability to fully wash paint off brushes using the water bucket
Changed the default brush color from white to no color
Improved overall painting feel and responsiveness
Smoothed camera movement while painting
Added menu transition effects
Added a selection outline to better indicate interactable objects
Reduced the number of uses per paint splat
Added a new elevator model
Improved window views with additional decoration
Replaced some placeholder visuals in the atelier
Many more small QOL improvements
Fixed Bugs:
Fixed spray can not working in multiplayer
Fixed multiplayer join/rejoin issues that could break the game after returning to the main menu
Fixed exhibited artworks with multiple paintable parts (e.g., the mayor statue) not updating correctly after being placed in the gallery
Fixed various UI menu issues
Fixed multiplayer tool parenting problems
Fixed paint tube visuals not appearing for other players in multiplayer
Fixed paint tube being disabled when used while not aiming at a surface
Fixed an issue where tools could be switched while still using the paint tube
Fixed rare inventory bugs when switching items too quickly
Fixed thicker brushes applying paint at incorrect angles on some surfaces
Fixed multiplayer sync issues when using the elevator
Fixed backend issues that could cause rare crashes
Thanks for reading! I’ll catch you in the next devlog when I open the playtest to everyone with some big updates on the way.
