Updates

New Systems

Deck Editor:

  • Players now have full control over the souls they will receive upon power up by way of the brand new deck editor! Access this new system by checking out the red locker at home. - Added a brief tutorial upon accessing the locker for the first time which explains the new interface as well as some information about types of souls - You can have up to 20 souls in your soul deck and must have at least 10 souls. - You are able to save and switch freely between 5 decks. These decks are tied to the currently equipped class and is comprised of the equipped pendant(s) and souls.

Hunter Level(Global player progression):

  • Upon returning home after a hunt or sleeping in any bed you will now be presented with an “Event Summary” screen where any events you have completed since the last time you came home or slept will be tallied up and added to your current Hunter Level EXP. - When you level up you will be rewarded with a number of Booster Tokens which you can use to buy booster packs! - You can also purchase booster tokens with ectoplasm in the materials shop.

Booster packs:

  • There are 3 types of booster packs in the initial release of the new deck building system. --> Pioneer Basic Pack ----->Contains generic souls that can be used by any class or pendant combination -->Pioneer Class Pack ----->Contains souls specific to classes (i.e. Scout, Tank, Adventurer, Mega). These souls can only be added to your deck when that particular class is equipped. -->Pioneer Pendant Pack ----> Contains souls specific to pendants. These souls can be added to your deck when the pendant is equipped.

Soul Rarity:

  • Along with the addition of over 200 souls we have also given souls the ability to be upgraded! When you open a booster pack and receive a duplicate of a soul you already own, that card will gain 1 EXP. When it receives enough EXP it will level up. - Common and Rare souls can be leveled up a maximum of 3 times. Generally when a soul levels up, any visible numbers in the soul’s effect will increase, although not every level will yield and increase maxing a soul will almost always yield an increase. - Powerful mythic souls do not gain EXP and therefore cannot be improved beyond their starting power. - If you receive an additional duplicate for a soul that is already at its maximum level, or a duplicate for a mythic soul you already own, you will instead be rewarded with booster tokens.

Special souls:

Some souls have special attributes or traits which will allow players to really customize how they would like to play the game. Just like before, your soul deck is reset at the beginning of each run

Temporary souls

  • These souls are denoted by an hourglass icon in the bottom left corner of the card image. These souls are one time use and generally have a time limit associated with them. For example a soul that temporarily makes you invincible, or gives you a massive speed boost for 20 seconds. There are plenty of temporary souls that have some pretty amazing abilities!

Some souls have special “Traits” that can change the way they appear or even improve their effects depending on certain conditions being met. Souls with traits will have the name of the trait above the soul effect. You can also learn about that trait by simply hovering over the soul in the deck editor or when you power up.

Draw traits

change the way a soul appears or is consumed.

Eager - Souls with the eager trait will always appear the very first time you power up during a run.

Persistent - Souls with the persistent trait will continue to appear when you power up, even if you chosen. The only way to stop a persistent card from appearing is to exile it.

Improvement traits

can increase their effects upon certain conditions being met. These souls have improvement tokens which can be seen on the right side of the soul’s image.

Jealous - Souls with the jealous trait are improved every time they are not chosen. Most Jealous souls can be improved 5 times

Displacer - Souls with the displacer trait are improved when any other soul is exiled from your deck. The soul does not have to be currently visible, and exiling a single soul improves every displacer soul currently in your deck. Most displacer souls can be improved 3 times.

Class Changes:

To avoid spoilers we won’t lay out every single class change here, but all classes have new weapons added to their kit via souls obtained in booster packs. Also, all current weapons can be made stronger by leveling up those souls by getting duplicates of them in booster packs.

Tank

reduced the damage of the upgraded rifle - we felt the tank was dealing way too much damage, but we did keep the large amount of AOE you can do.

Adventurer

Adventurer vital ray is renamed to Hero Ray

Increased base weapon damage

Pendant Changes:

  • Every pendant has undergone at least a slight change or tweak for both balancing, as well as adding additional souls to the basic kit. Below are some notable changes:

Bloodbane - Now triggers lifesteal based on damage dealt. By default it triggers its lifesteal effect after dealing 400 damage. This can be reduced by leveling up the soul

Razorstorm - Razorstorm uptime is now based on time instead of rotations

Gameplay Changes:

  • The house has been redesigned to facilitate the new booster pack bench - New music tracks added for the locker and booster pack bench. - New complete and looping music added for when you complete each of the existing levels. - You now draw 4 souls by default on power up instead of 3 - Added the ability to Reroll on a power up (draw 4 more souls) -When using certain temporary souls a small timer icon will appear above the character to let you know how long that effect will last for - Added Crate Drop Increase to research bench - Added Chest appearance increase to research bench

Visual Changes:

  • Increased the base resolution of the game to 1920x1080p - NPCs now have chirp dialogue which will trigger by walking by the character - Synth/Desynth has been changed to Buy/Sell - On power up you can now see your current stats - Damage text has been changed to make crits and debuff attacks more prominent - Player health bar is slightly raised to make the focus bar easier to see (samurai absorb skill)

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed an issue where mouse scroll did not work in the desynth menu - Borderless windowed should now properly fill the screen on higher resolution displays - Added background panels to some tooltips to make them easier to see - Fixed Samurai upgraded secondary able to absorb infinitely - Fixed some mouse capture issues when player is in UI and unable to exit mouse from window
