Greetings Mars Fans! After a bit of a break for other projects, we're back with update 6.0! We have had this one 99% done for a while, but spent a bit longer on testing to make sure that everything is good to go.

Greetings Mars Fans! After a bit of a break for other projects, we're back with update 6.0! We have had this one 99% done for a while, but spent a bit longer on testing to make sure that everything is good to go. Here are the major changes. POIs and Missions

addedNew Inventory System. Colonists can now pick up/drop equipment and samples.
addedPOI system overhaul. POI/Assignments have been removed and replaced with a new sample, data, and experiment sites. These sites are based off current and purposed science experiments for Mars and utilize three different mechanics: Data Collection, Sample Collection, and MSEP Deployment.
addedEvents from the "Communicate with Earth" task have been added to the random event pool.
addedAll sites can now be discovered while driving the rover, albeit at a reduced range.
changedTasks now cost additional resources and take longer to complete but rewards have been scaled to accommodate.
changedRadiation and Frost effects now damage colonists regardless of time of day.

Balancing

  • Tasks now cost additional resources and take longer to complete but rewards have been scaled to accommodate.

  • Cancelled tasks now refund their cost.

  • Radiation and Frost effects now damage colonists regardless of time of day.

Maps

  • Map edges and sky boxes have been cleaned up/replaced.

  • The map screen HUD has been simplified and darkened

Audio

Button feedback has been added to a range of buttons including HUD, research menu, building tree, PeriAreipedia, and pause menus.

Colonists now play a mining sound while they work.

Music volume has been scaled back. HUD

  • A new alert overlay on the map button will appear while a weather condition is in effect.

  • Sustainability objectives will now be displayed in the to right corner after choosing a colony specialization, allowing players to more easily track their progress towards winning the game.

  • Added a new end-game victory cinematic.

  • The old landing site images have been updated.

BUGS

Fixed a bug where the base specialization would not correctly unlock the winning conditions

Cleaned up some mineral spawns on Hellas that would spawn out of the play area.

The starting splash screen has been debugged and added back into the game.

Clicking “Back” while having a landing site selected will now correctly close the landing site rather than take you to the main menu.

Colonists portraits no longer flash red when not taking damage or inside a module.

Building sites on Mawrth and Hellas should now spawn in the correct locations.
