Life for single-person developers can get quite busy, particularly when the game doesn't sell well and other things take priority. But with the Freeware Collection having had years of fixes and updates behind it prior to release, it felt wrong to leave the biggest issues with Ballad of the Erasers unfixed. So, without further ado, here are the patch notes for version 1.1 of Pens: Ballad of the Erasers:

  1. A new checkpoint is now always created at the start of a chapter to stop the game from attempting to load a checkpoint in the previous chapter and crashing.

  2. Chapter loading has been tweaked so that the chapter is repeatedly called at the end of the loading process. This should stop the rare never-ending loading screens that crashed the game from appearing.

  3. Dying to Sin enemies can no longer produce error messages that crash the game.

  4. The rock throwing enemies in Chapter 8 can now be damaged by the Glaive Gun.

  5. It is now possible to reset game progress so that you can restart from the beginning, if you so wish.

  6. The help box on the controls menu now correctly states you're going back to the 'previous menu' when hovering over the 'Back' button, instead of the 'main menu.'

  7. Small, hard-to-see clues have been added to the puzzles in Chapter 6.
