Balancing / Gameplay Changes & Quality of Life Updates
This update delivers important performance, stability, and quality-of-life improvements across multiple areas of Pax Augusta. Players should notice smoother performance, reduced GPU/RAM usage, and improved stability.
⚙️ Performance & Optimization
Reduced unnecessarily large textures – saving between 300 MB and 1 GB of RAM, depending on the map, with no visible loss of quality.
Optimized Ambient Occlusion code, reducing draw calls by up to 30%.
Various GPU optimizations across multiple structures:
Street tiles
Forum square tiles
City walls
Wells
Level 1 buildings and GapFiller (Level 1)
Level 2 buildings and GapFiller (Level 2)
Horrea buildings
Fisherhouse
Farm
Improved several NPCs to reduce CPU usage.
🔊 Audio Fixes
Fixed several structures producing strange noises even when sounds were turned off:
