After finishing the core gameplay mechanics, I started working on expanding the AI and preparing the game for the addition of story content and quests. However, during this process, I found one feature that made more sense to add right now: hand grenades.

Hand Grenades

The following grenades have been added to the game:

  • RGD-5 — offensive fragmentation grenade.

  • F-1 — defensive fragmentation grenade.

  • RGN — offensive impact fragmentation grenade.

  • RGO — defensive impact fragmentation grenade.

  • Zarya — non-lethal flashbang grenade.

Each grenade has its own effective damage radius. Defensive grenades have a larger fragmentation radius, so they are best used from behind cover.

Using Grenades

  • To use a grenade, you need to assign it to one of the two special grenade slots in the inventory.

  • Grenades must be stored in pouches or pockets. Grenades stored in a backpack or other inaccessible containers cannot be assigned to grenade slots.

  • During gameplay, press 5 or 6 to take the selected grenade in your hands.

  • Hold LMB to aim the throw. Release LMB to throw the grenade.

  • Press RMB before throwing to cancel aiming.

  • While holding Ctrl, you can freely aim with a grenade in your hands, just like when aiming a firearm.

  • Defensive grenades have a large damage radius, so they should be used very carefully and preferably from cover.

  • If you cannot run away from an incoming grenade, going prone is the best way to reduce incoming damage.

AI

  • NPCs have also learned how to use hand grenades. Staying in the same position for too long is no longer recommended.

  • NPCs can also react to grenades. They will try to move away from the danger zone, take cover, or go prone if they cannot escape in time.

  • You can also loot grenades from the bodies of enemies who used them in combat.

Other Changes

  • Improved French localization. Thanks to Louis Messin for helping with the corrections.

  • Various other bug fixes.

Future Plans

Now I am moving on to the larger task of adding story content, quests, and further expanding the AI. In other words, I am continuing to move the project toward the originally planned story-driven action RPG direction.

I will try to release updates as new mechanics are added, but some complex systems require more time than others. Because of that, there may sometimes be longer pauses between updates.

Stay tuned for more news. Thank you all for your continued support, feedback, and interest in the project!
