Paradox! Stuck in the Past changes
Whether you’re reading this today, tomorrow, or yesterday, we’re Rewind Studios, and we’re super pleased to introduce you to our debut game, Paradox!
Imagine a world where every level you play is a dance between your past and future selves. That's what we've created with Paradox!, a form of solo-player co-op inspired by the beloved art style of those classic Cartoon Network shows from the late 90s and early noughties.
We’ve tried to bring that nostalgic vibe into a fresh, mind-bending puzzle-platformer that’ll have you try, try and try again until each level is surpassed, and your time machine fixed.
In Paradox! you start as a young, sprightly professor with a broken time machine, racing against time to gather scattered time crystals. The levels are filled with challenges, think deadly lasers and disappearing platforms, but here's the twist: you play each level twice. First, as your younger self, then you switch to your future self. In the future, you're not just playing the same exact level again; you're essentially playing co-op with your past self, manipulating the environment to help your younger version succeed. But remember, if your two selves bump into each other, poof, you're out of the timeline!
We've poured our love for sci-fi, time travel conundrums, and the quirky humor of early internet culture into this game. It’s not just about solving puzzles; it's about thinking like a time traveler, where every action you take in the past directly shapes your future.
You're thus invited to wishlist Paradox! on Steam right now, and to mark your calendars, as a public demo will be available starting February 20th and throughout the Steam Next Fest.
