You will have access to a fair amount of content as you will play until you get the first of the six crystals, that means you will beat the entire first chapter. You will have only access to the cerulean world to get the blue crystal. The cerulean world has two different paths you can take, so the final boss of that world will be different depending on which path you take, so the experience can be different of other people, or if you replay it.
