Hold up, did you know? Shades of Horror supports cross-platform online co-op across PC and console!?
That's right. We try to point it out as much as we can, but don't forget. You can play with friends on PC and any console where Shades is available in cross-platform online cooperative play! Mix and match console and PC players so you can experience the nightmares together no matter where you want to play!
Before we get too far... PATCH NOTES!
Outbreak
Shades of Horror has been updated to 1.0.0.28.
This major update includes
Introduction of the Tailbreak and Railbreak DX major crossover event with challenges, cosmetics and more.
The Summer Heat seasonal event with brand new Cypress Reel digs, cosmetics, challenges, scenarios and more!
Major performance improvements including a major fix for an issue that could cause your FPS to steadily drop during very long levels.
Numerous fixes to enemies, including how they spawn, to both reduce overhead on the game while ensuring encounters still play out extremely similar from prior versions of the title.
The addition of 21 new songs to Cypress Hall from upcoming titles like Tailbreak, Railbreak DX, Shades of Horror Story Mode, and more!
Significant rebalancing of enemies and encounters across the title.
Significant reduction in reported bugs and issues across the game, including ensuring better stability for mid range and lower range.
And a lot of little stuff to prepare for upcoming major content and feature launches in 2026-2027, including ensuring backer rewards work correctly for Kickstarter Backers from 2022 as we begin to ship them over the next year.
Yeah, Patch notes are great but what's REALLY new?
Glad you asked! The Cypress Reel theater is adorned with beachgoers featuring new tans and sweet swimsuits, and so much more! You'll find new cosmetic machines to unlock summer fun with new masks and weapon skins inspired by Tailbreak and Railbreak DX, as well as other games in the Outbreak series!
Complete new challenges in-game to earn your Ferret Tickets and unlock the fun!
Tailbreak and Railbreak DX crossovers!?
That's right, with the upcoming launches of Tailbreak in August, and Railbreak DX in September, we felt it'd be a fun time to give you a little preview of the new carnage. Experience two new scenarios, with ridiculously upgraded graphics, that channel the horror (and insanity) of these on-rails lightgun nightmares! Don't forget to check out their trailers below too if you'd like to learn more about them, then hop into Shades of Horror and start blasting with these new challenges!
You can wishlist Tailbreak and Railbreak DX now as well!
Keep on surviving and get ready for brand new nightmares ahead as we charge into the latter half of 2026 and beyond! Shades of Horror is here to stay so grab your buddies and go blast some dinos and the undead!
Good luck!
