Orbita changes
Orbita 0.5 - Major Balance and Quality Update
New Reputation System
Completing missions now individually increases reputation levels for all 3 alien races • Each race has its own reputation progress • Reputation levels grant new bonuses as you complete more deliveries
Reputation Levels
Lvl 1 - 1 delivery: Unlocks the shop for that race • Lvl 2 - 10 deliveries: Adds +1 flat extra token per mission • Lvl 3 - 25 deliveries: Reduces that race's mission timer by 30 seconds • Lvl 4 - 50 deliveries: Adds +1 flat extra token per mission • Lvl 5 - 100 deliveries: Reduces that race's mission timer by 30 seconds
Knowledge Menu Tabs
- Added 2 brand-new tabs to the Knowledge menu • Tips tabShows tips for orb size scaling, copying, pasting, and several game features that are not explicitly explained elsewhere • Visitor Info tab: Displays the new Reputation System and additional visitor information
Visitor Encounter Chance System
Completing or declining missions for each race now increases or reduces the chance for that race to appear in future missions • This makes it possible to shift encounter chances toward whichever race you need most • Encounter chances are limited to a maximum range of 70% / 15% / 15% • Encounter chances change in 5% intervals • Accepting a mission for a race removes 2.5% from the other two races and gives +5% to the selected race
New Tool
Antimatter Processor: Processes 32 Whitematter and 32 Darkmatter into a size 2 Antimatter orb • The Antimatter Processor does not consume an extra amount, since Antimatter is already a very expensive resource
Audio & UI Additions
Added brand-new collision sounds for all 19 elements, including Mud • Added new sounds for opening and closing menus • Added a "Reset Delivery Portal Position" button to the delivery UI • Added an "On-Encounter" button to the new Visitor Info tab • The "On-Encounter" button allows Auto-Accept or Auto-Decline to be enabled separately for each of the 3 races • This makes it possible to semi-AFK delivery missions if you have the proper setup
Tool Description Improvements
Improved several tool descriptions by adding the exact resource amounts for recipes • Updated descriptions include Matter Mixer, Water Converter, Whitematter Processor, Darkmatter Processor, Antimatter Processor, and Token Synthesizers
Shop & UI Improvements
Changed the color of the shop tabs to better fit their race and improve the overall shop visuals • Slightly adjusted shop dimensions and ordering to better fit tools and descriptions • Reduced the maximum amount of collision SFX that can play per second • Enabling tool or wire view modes now displays a pop-up telling you which mode was enabled
Balancing
Processor Tool Balance
Whitematter Processor and Darkmatter Processor tools now consume x1.5 the normal amounts instead of x2 • This makes processor tools more viable in the mid game • Efficiency upgrades for Whitematter Processor and Darkmatter Processor tools now have a 10% / 20% / 33% chance of not consuming resources • These new efficiency values better follow the new x1.5 consumption ratio
Token Synthesizer Balance
Reduced Token Synthesizer resource requirements, since tokens should now be easier to obtain overall • Antimatter: 10 -> 4 • Iron: 50,000 -> 25,000 • Terrium: 10,000 -> 5,000 • GreenMatter: 50,000 -> 25,000 • Crystal: 250 -> 125 • Fire: 100,000 -> 50,000 • Whitematter: 500 -> 250
Upgrade Price Balance
Space Amplification I:
Bluematter cost stays at 1,000,000 • Antimatter cost changed from 10 to 0
Removed the Antimatter cost from Space Amplification I to make it achievable earlier
Space Amplification II:
YellowMatter cost stays at 1,000,000 • Antimatter cost changed from 500 to 0 • Whitematter cost changed from 0 to 10,000
Added a Whitematter cost to Space Amplification II as a mid/late-game currency
Efficient Trading Routes:
Token cost changed from 5 / 10 / 20 to 1 / 5 / 10
Negotiation Upgrades
Reputation Upgrades have been renamed to Negotiation, this was changed because Reputation is now a new mechanic in the game • Token cost changed from 1 / 4 / 10 / 15 / 20 to 1 / 2 / 4 / 7 / 10
Tool Price Balance
Matter Maxifier: 8 -> 6 • Whitematter Processor: 15 -> 10 • DarkMatter Processor: 20 -> 10
Fixes
Fixed a bug that allowed menus to be opened before discovering your first element • Fixed a bug that made shop tabs stay active while not visible, blocking mouse interactions with objects below them • Fixed a bug that allowed ALT mode to be toggled when starting the game • Fixed a bug that made tools sometimes ignore the Black Hole instead of being absorbed and refunded • Fixed a bug that made the Knowledge menu not update properly • Settings menu can now be opened while the start intro is playing • Base bloom value for new saves should now be 50% instead of 100% • Reduced the high-pitched clinking in Bluematter sounds
