DEMO UPDATE
We wanted to start this note by saying thanks to all of you who have added Oniria to your libraries and gave our demo a chance. And an extra shout-out to those of you who wishlisted us <3 — we are at 1,521 and growing!
Now that that’s out of the way, let’s move on to the ✨ updates ✨:
New feature!
We created a new companion for your journey: a journal. Angie will take notes about her surroundings, helping you keep track of what is happening and hinting at things you may encounter next.
Here you will also be able to re-read important information, such as the letter you receive at the start of the game.
More pleasing and useful UI
First and foremost, you can take a look at the control settings in case you forget the keybindings.
New symbols have been added to indicate player actions.
Building the unnerving atmosphere
- Texture changeswe reworked our hotel. But unlike most renovations, we pushed it toward a more decayed state than before. These changes can be seen in the walls, the wallpaper, the stairs, and throughout the entire floor.
We also moved some furniture around on the second floor. Maybe there is a reason behind this decision… or maybe not.
We remodeled some assets, reducing their polygon count so the game is better optimized — though we were sneaky enough that you probably won’t notice the difference.
- Not everything is about looks, so we also implemented new sound effectsambient sounds, new footstep sounds as you walk, and a few spooky surprises!
A new face deserves a new name — one worthy of the village it belongs to: Hotel Goya. We took inspiration from a great Spanish artist when naming the place, helping anchor the village within the story we want to tell.
That is it for now! More awesome things will be revealed soon. Stay tuned 👁️
Bye bye!
