Repeated intro

Hello,

What changed

  • Gameplay
  • Balance
changedThe reality is that, since our previous release, A fisherman's Tale 2 , the VR market has become increasingly challenging for narrative-driven projects and the interest from the platforms shrunk to nothingness. Still, even if we knew the risks of releasing the game in such a tough context, we wanted to make a gamble: We had worked on a first hour and a half of gameplay and the team had made a great job, but we didn’t have the resources to make something as ambitious as we initially had in mind. So, instead of waiting indefinitely to get more funds, we decided to polish what we had and release One True Path as a sort of 'pilot' for what could become a series with a longer form, hence the “Part 1” and hope for a positive response to get the attention of investors and publishers.
changedAnd as to what will become of One true Path , we’re still deeply attached to this project and grateful to all the players who’ve shared their feedback and support. Of course, we’ll keep you updated if any good news comes this way because, we never know… Maybe Jack hasn’t had his last word yet ! But don't expect any updates on the game from now on !
changedAs we still think the game has value as a standalone release, we’d like to keep its low price tag. Any revenue we get from it will be useful for the studio, but if you don’t think it’s fair let us know !

There have been a number of requests about 'what's next ?' for One True Path, and players wondering if we were still working on the game. Of course, by releasing a narrative game as a 'Part1', we left open a lot of unfinished story lines, so we were expecting these reactions. Now, let’s just get it out there: we won't be able to release any further installments to the game as we had to stop development.

The reality is that, since our previous release, A fisherman's Tale 2, the VR market has become increasingly challenging for narrative-driven projects and the interest from the platforms shrunk to nothingness. Still, even if we knew the risks of releasing the game in such a tough context, we wanted to make a gamble: We had worked on a first hour and a half of gameplay and the team had made a great job, but we didn’t have the resources to make something as ambitious as we initially had in mind. There has been a very positive response from the audience and press and in some good measure, what we had hoped for - proofs that there is a curiosity to get the full story of Jack Stevenson - but it wasn't enough leverage to secure the funding needed to continue developing the game, despite our best efforts.

Now, even if that didn't pan out for this game, our team will keep trying to push the boundaries of VR - we have exciting stuff on the way actually - and we remain hopeful for better days when narrative driven games in VR will get the attention and success they should.

And as to what will become of One true Path, we’re still deeply attached to this project and grateful to all the players who’ve shared their feedback and support. Of course, we’ll keep you updated if any good news comes this way because, we never know… Maybe Jack hasn’t had his last word yet ! But don't expect any updates on the game from now on !

In a weird way, what happened to us resonates with the game themes and is truer to the character of Jack Stevenson. He has a hard time finishing things. If you play the game, you'll understand ;)

As we still think the game has value as a standalone release, we’d like to keep its low price tag. Any revenue we get from it will be useful for the studio, but if you don’t think it’s fair let us know !

Anyway, for those who played, we thank you for your support, and for those who still haven’t, we hope you’ll still be curious to give it a shot, and although the ending is still open, will have an entertaining journey.

Jack and the Innerspace team.
