Here’s a small performance update. In this patch, I reworked how lighting is calculated and lowered or removed some light settings that didn’t have any noticeable effect on the scene.
I went through every object and light and defined which lights can affect which objects. This reduces the amount of lighting and shadow calculations and improves performance. At the same time, I removed even more objects from dynamic lighting where the lighting never changes, meaning there’s no need to constantly calculate shadows for them.
I also reduced the size of the baked light and shadow maps, which should further improve performance.
