addedBonuses GaloreHouston, we have... a new target challenge! On each of the main levels a bonus now alternates between target hits for a cascading percentage of the overall score. So for the initial new bonus hits will only count for 10 percent of the overall score (or 10 points as a base). But each successive bonus target hit raises the bonus percentage up to 30%!
addedBonuses GaloreI had previously received feedback that people mostly just went for yellow targets as they were worth the most points - I think this adds a bit of spice to the levels and makes those other targets a worthy challenge. :D

Bonuses Galore

Houston, we have... a new target challenge! On each of the main levels a bonus now alternates between target hits for a cascading percentage of the overall score. So for the initial new bonus hits will only count for 10 percent of the overall score (or 10 points as a base). But each successive bonus target hit raises the bonus percentage up to 30%!

I had previously received feedback that people mostly just went for yellow targets as they were worth the most points - I think this adds a bit of spice to the levels and makes those other targets a worthy challenge. :D

Just a note that all of the high scores for levels have been altered to reflect the new (wildly high) scores you can achieve.

Accessibility Arc & Bonus Guides

A couple new accessibility settings have been implemented as well. For those trickier shots, there's now an optional Arc Guide, and Bonus Guide for ease of spotting which targets you can aim for to grab those extra points. There's also a toggle to enable the Target Bonus Guides.

Quality of Life Features:

  • Added a few more hints to the Intro Screen to explain how to turn on the new features.

  • A few adjustments to UI to accommodate new features.

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed an issue where the controller settings were incorrectly overriding mouse settings on PC.

  • Physics changes on Lv 8. Previously the arrow would check collisions too frequently and wind up going through objects, or ride along the ceiling. Hopefully this won’t be an issue anymore.

  • If one of the unlockable characters was unlocked before the other, there was a chance that on a secret board selection level it would load the other hidden character’s level. Fixed.

Gameplay:

  • Added an entirely new bonus target challenge! See the description above, I’m excited about this one.

  • Adding accessibility features! With the new bonus comes… a new Target Bonus Guide! If you’d like, enable it in settings to see an outline of each target that is ‘new’ bonus enabled.

  • All High Score challenges have been rebalanced with the new bonus feature. This means on most levels the high score limit has increased by a lot - sometimes several thousand points. If you’ve already earned an achievement for this, it won’t take anything away (unless you reset your game, but steam achievements are safe regardless). But it will show your score as being inadequate in level summaries in the level select map.

  • Added a new Accessibility feature! The Arc Guide! Some of the levels can be pretty challenging, this is the perfect tool to lighten those up. :)

  • Adjusted timing of button hover swap on secret level scoreboard as it was a bit clumsy.

Graphics:

  • Added animations to some cutscenes/dialogue! Feather Dude, in particular, is much more animated.

  • Updated the level map to make some hidden things a bit more obvious.

Story:

  • Changed a bit of dialogue in the tutorial intro to include the new bonus modifier.

  • Fixed a typo on level 15.

  • Changed a slight story aspect on the campfire level.

Audio:

  • Adjusted a setting in code to check for audio players trying to activate on disabled game objects. Didn’t affect gameplay, just wasn’t ideal.

I hope you enjoy the new mechanics and features - cheers!
