Dear Metas,
The server maintenance and update is planned for April 8, 2026, at 4:00 PM (PT) and expected to last about 2 hours (actual time may differ). Please plan your game time accordingly for the best experience.
The update size is approximately 28.98 GB on PC launchers, 442 MB on the PC client (NOTE: If the update is delayed on Steam, it may be downloaded more than once), 2.7 GB on Android, and 3.8 GB on iOS (actual size may differ). We recommend downloading the update over Wi-Fi.
This update brings new Tech system rules, a new Battle Pass and Stardust Secret Crate, a new terraforming feature for Eternaland, a shorter mod recovery period of 7 days, plus a range of optimizations and recent bug fixes.
As this maintenance includes a large amount of content, we will be sending special version maintenance rewards to thank you for your support of Once Human: Starchrom ×1,000, Mitsuko's Mark ×100, Stardust Secret Crate S12 - Epic x1, and Stardust Secret Crate S12 - Rare x3. After claiming the Stardust Secret Crates, you can open them from your backpack. You can also get more through the Battle Pass. Please check the Battle Pass for details.

Content/Feature Updates
New Tech System Rules
Since you arrived in Nalcott, the Tech system has been an essential part of survival and a major goal during exploration. However, the current Tech system mainly serves as a way to unlock abilities through leveling and does not fully deliver the experience or value it was meant to provide. With this Tech system overhaul, we hope to better reflect the survival experience of Metas in Nalcott and give each scenario its own distinct pace of progression.
Major Update: Complete Tech System Overhaul
The new Tech system completely changes the old progression pace, officially shifting from level-based unlocks to exploration-driven growth. Every trip out into the world can now lead to discoveries that truly matter!
Tech Tree and Unlock Methods Updated
The Tech tree has been rebuilt around four core branches: Survival, Production, Combat, and Building. Characters now start with basic Tech unlocked by default, and future unlocks are no longer limited by scenario phase or character level. You can obtain new Tech in the following three ways:
l Reverse Engineering: Collect facilities and items marked as "cultural artifacts" in the wilderness, then bring them back to the Synthesis Bench for reverse engineering. This can directly unlock crafting abilities or grant Tech Points, making progress much more efficient!
l Tech Invention: Combine materials at the Synthesis Bench to conduct invention experiments. A successful attempt gives you both the formula and the finished item. Even if it fails, part of the materials will be returned.
l Tech Point Allocation: Spend Tech Points to manually unlock the Tech you want. Tech Points can be earned by leveling up, repeating research, defeating Elite enemies, and more. (To reduce grinding, Tech Points can no longer be obtained from exploring Mystical Crates.)
Specialization System Removed and Facility Enhancements Upgraded
The original Tech Specialization system has been completely removed! Its effects have now been fully integrated into Tech tree nodes, Tech enhancements, wilderness exploration, and the new facility enhancements
To help you gain full crafting capability earlier, we have removed some mid-tier crafting facilities, including the Intermediate Supplies Workbench, Intermediate Weapon Bench, Small Synthesis Bench, and Intermediate Stove. Their formulas have been merged into advanced facilities, and the unlock nodes for those advanced facilities have been moved earlier. At the same time, we have significantly
