It's got it all; NO GenAI, fully voiced dialogue, choices that matter, a queer cast, platonic love, familial love, and romantic love—both requited AND unrequited, for you angst fans out there. At its core, On Love, On Monsters is a story about a monster who wasn't really ever a monster, who just wanted to be loved like she knew she could be. Sound like something you're interested in? "I'm new here! Who are you?"

A question I ask myself often—in all seriousness, we are March and May, the two developers at Lighthouse Theory Games! What's the purpose of your studio, you might ask? Why should you care? Well, we are here to make inclusive, queer-led games with narratives that dive into all different types of love. In every game, we want our audience to feel seen and loved, especially if that isn't something you are used to feeling.

These games are for the people who grew up without seeing themselves in media, and yearned to feel just as loved as those around them did. This is for you.

Now...Devlog Time!

I (March) will kick things off again! I've been working nonstop on audio mastery and scene coding this month, to make sure our lovely voice actors sound as wonderful as possible! They all compliment each other so well in each scene.

Something both of us are really excited about has been seeing each scene come together—there are tons of moving pieces, and it's so satisfying to see it all start coming to life!

If you are reading this, here's a fun secret just for you; we have some BIG news dropping in about a week and a half. Stay tuned for THAT.

I've also been working on background rendering—here's a sneak peak of Moore Manor's sitting room!

Welcome back to the May section of this devlog! This month, I've been working on lines for the backgrounds, as well as some music! I've actually started work on the main theme for the game, which you'll be able to hear once the official trailer drops! It's got a lot of layers, and will even include vocals and lyrics! I wanted to make sure it had that signature pull that all themes do, to make sure everyone who hears it is automatically curious about what the game entails!

That's it for me! We'd both like to thank everyone so much for your continued support, and we're so excited for you all to see the finished product!

Teaser of the Month!!!

Whoa! What's that???? It's a super cool piece of art that March whipped up! Every month in each devlog, I will drop one piece of art (that won't appear in the game, it's exclusive to these logs!). This art will give you a little info about the character of the month, tease some of their backstory, and maybe foreshadow some things...

This months spotlight character is our Heir, Vivienne de la Mare! A red hair ribbon with a rose embellishment...what could it mean?
