Public Preview 1.4.2 Now Available

Hey everyone! We're very excited to announce we're in the final stretch for releasing a macOS version to the world with just a few more fixes to go, so we're happy to be updating the public preview build to 1.4.2.

Hey everyone! We're very excited to announce we're in the final stretch for releasing a macOS version to the world with just a few more fixes to go, so we're happy to be updating the public preview build to 1.4.2. We have quite a few fixes and updates in this release, and not just for the Mac! This release also includes brand new community made translations for previously unsupported languages: Portuguese and Dutch, along with many fixes and changes to others to make the Obduction experience the best it can be for everyone around the world! Words of Warning There's a few issues with AMD graphics drivers under macOS that are beyond our control. These issues include random crashing on Macs with AMD graphics cards. As these issues require coordinated fixes from both Apple and AMD, we are unable to fix them in-house. Thanks for your understanding and patience with this, we can assure you all we're working as hard as possible on our end. Installing Apple’s latest macOS updates (Including public betas if available) should reduce crashing. Any remaining crashes will be addressed in future updates from Apple. Fixes and changes in this current public preview release: Mac Specific • Various fixes and improvements for texture usage • Fix for corruption on Trees • Improvements for menu loading times • Potential fixes for multiple crashes • Fix for CW not appearing after loading a game • Fix for errant Arai floating on the Tree in Kaptar • Improvements for the screen scaling factor under Mac • Improvements for being able to outrun the loading zones in Hunrath Audio • Fix for some build types crashing when loading a level with ambient sounds in the world. Art • Various tweaks and improvements throughout Hunrath • Various tweaks and improvements throughout Kaptar • Bad collision area on the Hunrath Maray sphere. Rebuilt collision from scratch. • Fixed a nasty shading pop on the mine cart when crossing the zone thresholds. • Increased cart blocker volume size on the scrap yard gate. • Scaled/moved one of the tower fog plane blockers where it didn't quite meet the wall. • Cleaned up a bunch of awful collision in the caves near the swap spheres. • Open edge of Hunrath wall was visible near elevator. Moved/added some small rocks to hide it. • Fixed some dumb river-flow direction in the Hunrath bosque, near the clothesline • Fixed translucency issues on mine cart • Many art updates and improvements to the stairs in Kaptar • Fog in (area redacted) no longer displays overly bright • Added a new decal inside of the train car you can walk in. This is for an easter egg image that was forgotten about. Jeremiah is really sorry about this. • Repositioned the ‘fallen tree’ backer reward • Hid/covered a couple of unsightly light map and clipping issues near the Kaptar stairs swap sphere. • Minor tweaks to one of the Arai swarm's light path, as the light was (slightly) visible outside the hive where it shouldn't have been. UI • Updated UI elements to accommodate the requested Keyboard addition • Updated Credits! • Generic fixes for setting resolution issues General • Fix for being able to "disable" the bomb
