changedNPCs that mention time are now functioning properly. Previously, since the system’s time checks used English variables but were executed in a Chinese environment, this triggered error messages. Now, they should be able to correctly check the English variables again, meaning they will display the time correctly.
changedAny sections that use the “Pause” function for timing (such as fishing) are now working properly. Previously, the game interpreter was unable to parse pause durations with decimal points because the “.” symbol was replaced with “。” during translation, causing errors. This feature should now function correctly without any issues.
fixedOther interactive areas that caused errors have been fixed. This was primarily due to the use of incorrect symbols during Chinese translation; since the text contained Unicode characters, “%” symbols were added during the translation process. Due to the way the code works, the game would interpret this as a command rather than a character, causing errors. This issue should now be resolved.
changedSeveral other minor bugs and errors have been fixed. These primarily include issues with input fields, where entering Chinese characters or full-width numbers previously caused the game to malfunction or crash, as the feature was originally designed to support only standard numerals. Additional handling logic has been added to address these situations.
changedPlease note, however, that due to the open-ended nature of the input system and the vastness of the language, certain input content may still not be recognized correctly. If you encounter any specific input errors, please report them promptly, and we will make manual corrections if necessary!
changed“Emerald” Chinese Localization! In addition to this patch, my latest free game, “Emerald (Jade),” has now been fully localized into Chinese! Unlike “Oath,” this translation was entirely done by hand by translator Fyato and should be much more accurate than machine translation.

NOTE: this patch update ONLY applies to the Chinese build of the game. No bugs here are present in the English build, and so no update has been pushed for that build.

Change Log:

  • NPCs that mention time are now functioning properly. Previously, since the system’s time checks used English variables but were executed in a Chinese environment, this triggered error messages. Now, they should be able to correctly check the English variables again, meaning they will display the time correctly.

  • Any sections that use the “Pause” function for timing (such as fishing) are now working properly. Previously, the game interpreter was unable to parse pause durations with decimal points because the “.” symbol was replaced with “。” during translation, causing errors. This feature should now function correctly without any issues.

  • Other interactive areas that caused errors have been fixed. This was primarily due to the use of incorrect symbols during Chinese translation; since the text contained Unicode characters, “%” symbols were added during the translation process. Due to the way the code works, the game would interpret this as a command rather than a character, causing errors. This issue should now be resolved.

  • Several other minor bugs and errors have been fixed. These primarily include issues with input fields, where entering Chinese characters or full-width numbers previously caused the game to malfunction or crash, as the feature was originally designed to support only standard numerals. Additional handling logic has been added to address these situations.

  • Please note, however, that due to the open-ended nature of the input system and the vastness of the language, certain input content may still not be recognized correctly. If you encounter any specific input errors, please report them promptly, and we will make manual corrections if necessary!

  • Other fixes include replacing all missing English content with Chinese.

  • These fixes apply only to the Chinese version of the game. Since many of these errors stem purely from character handling mechanisms, the English version should function normally.

“Emerald” Chinese Localization!

In addition to this patch, my latest free game, “Emerald (Jade),” has now been fully localized into Chinese! Unlike “Oath,” this translation was entirely done by hand by translator Fyato and should be much more accurate than machine translation.

A huge thank you to Fyato for the translation work. If you haven’t played it yet, I highly recommend giving this game a try! Although it’s free, it offers at least an extra hour or two of gameplay and story content.

Thank you to every player who has downloaded *The Oath* recently. I’m truly grateful for your support and will continue to work hard to fix any remaining bugs!
