Gameplay
changedSeven rounds, one trophy and a whole lot of prize money. The Egg Cup is a sixth game that takes place at the end of the month between month two and nine in each season (assuming you progress, of course!) Like friendlies, this game can be broadcast even if you have played your broadcasted match that month.
changedThere are no replays in the Egg Cup – games will be settled in extra time or, failing that, the dreaded penalty shoot-out! Prize money will be given at the end of every match, allowing a consistent cash flow. After every match, your eyes will be blessed with the beauty of the Egg Cup bracket being updated in all its glory.
addedAdditionally, to celebrate the start of the 2026 World Cup, NUTMEG! is adding five World Championship matches. These are based on historic world cup encounters, like England v Argentina in 1986, or fantasy encounters exploring ‘what if’ scenarios, including England v Argentina 1990.
changedBut that’s not all! Those who took part in our experimental branch (thank you so much!) have already got a sneak peek at some changes and additions coming to NUTMEG! alongside the Cupdate. This includes selecting your starting XI for delegated games, more difficulty options, and even more events that you will need to navigate – making each season different to the last. We’ll provide full patch notes of changes and bug fixes on the 11th.
