changedI also want to give a massive shoutout and thank you to Splattercat for checking out the game. Seeing someone cover Null Horizon to that extent was a surreal and amazing experience for me as a solo dev. If you haven't seen it yet, you can check out his video, over on his YouTube channel . Here's a direct link though, in case you are lazy like me haha: View store page
changedQuality of Life, UI, & Audio
changedAudio Toggles: Split the audio muting into separate SFX and Music toggles. I originally intended to do this ages ago but got sidetracked because of ADHD. It's finally here!
addedEnemy Tiers: Added a "rank" icon (shown as a star or multiple stars) above NPC names so you can easily identify what tier of enemy you are facing.
addedUI Clean-up: Centered NPC names with the new Rank icon and health bars so the targeting HUD doesn't look so weird and misaligned.

Here is the latest round of patch notes, featuring some QoL features and a batch of bug fixes, as well as a few things I took away from his video:

Quality of Life, UI, & Audio

  • Audio Toggles: Split the audio muting into separate SFX and Music toggles. I originally intended to do this ages ago but got sidetracked because of ADHD. It's finally here!

  • Enemy TiersAdded a "rank" icon (shown as a star or multiple stars) above NPC names so you can easily identify what tier of enemy you are facing.
  • UI Clean-upCentered NPC names with the new Rank icon and health bars so the targeting HUD doesn't look so weird and misaligned.
  • Tooltip MysteryRemoved the crafting recipe from item tooltips. You gotta disassemble the item for that info now ;)

Balance & Mechanics

  • Economy BuffIncreased all Contract payouts by 20%.
  • Black Hole Mystery: Black holes no longer tell you the system modifier of the zone you are jumping to. Jump at your own risk.

Bug Fixes

  • Defense Scaling FixFixed a bug where, under certain circumstances, Shield and Hull modules would revert to the old flat-number formula instead of using the newer, intended percentage-based scaling.
  • Black Hole UI FixFixed a bug where the menu for black holes wasn't properly registering mouse clicks.
  • Input Blocking FixFixed an issue where certain interactables wouldn't swallow the input if they happened to be positioned exactly between you and an NPC.
  • Map Spoilers FixedFixed an oversight where map node tooltips could be seen hovering on the Nav Chart even if that specific square hadn't been uncovered yet. As always, please restart Steam or verify your files to manually trigger the update. Please join us in discord to report bugs, suggest features, or just hang out and talk!

If you are enjoying the game, I'd love it if you could take a few minutes to leave a review on Steam.

Thank you for your attention, Captains.
