We are so excited and happy to finally release Twilight of Yggdrasil DLC!

Nordic Ashes Twilight of Yggdrasil

On this post we will make a recap of all the features we just released, including DLC ones and Free update ones.

If you already read the previous posts, you already know almost everything about this new release! There’s an extra challenge explained at the end.

Twilight of Yggdrasil DLC

New Realms

Fight your way through Groundheim, Krystalheim and Sandheim. The story continues after Asgard was defeated with tons of new enemies and bosses.

New Character Gnöki

Long story short, Gnöki decided he didn’t want to be a final boss, so we offered him a position as lieutenant, and he said yes!

The Quest

However, he won’t join the team as soon as you unlock this DLC, you must first complete a hero quest! Baby Gnökis have been trapped in each of the realms, and our dear merchant friend is really troubled about it.

It will be your job to save all the baby Gnökis and convince the real Gnöki to join your team.

You will also be able to unlock a ton of skins for Gnöki!

Themed Skins

Axeldör, Thyra and M.I.S.S.I.N.G. will sport new costumes related to the new realms. Which one is your favorite?

New relics

This DLC will include new relics to create stronger builds and more synergies!

OST by Rubén Melià

We’re happy to have Rubén once again and his amazing soundtrack back in Nordic Ashes! The new tracks will eventually be added to Nordic Ashes OST, so if you already own it, these will be soon included.

Secret challenge

This is a worldwide Quest.

Defeat Fenrir to earn points. Points from players all around the world will be added to reach the goal and unveil the secret!

You will find all the necessary information in the main menu of the game, in the top right corner. Rumor has it the secret will be released a few hours after the challenge has been completed!!! Good Luck!

Free content

This content is availabe for everyone, as a regular update of the base game (it does not require any DLCs).

Relic Ban

As the number of relics keeps increasing it felt imperative to have a new tool to ban the ones we don’t want to appear on a run.

Spend some seeds to ban relics of your choice and those relics won’t appear on the next run.

You will always be able to ban some relics of your choice for free and then spend some extra seeds to ban even more relics if you wish. Those relics won’t appear in the next run.

Lightning Mode

If you choose to play Lightning Mode, the overall speed of the game will be increased making runs much more frantic and shorter.

There won’t be any kind of penalty by using this mode. You’ll earn the same amount of seeds as usual, be able to participate in Adventure mode, ranked runs (Ragnarok), and Daily Challenges. The time posted for your Ragnarok or Daily Challenge run will be automatically recalculated to match the “regular” time speed of a standard run.

New relics

And a few new relics also for this free update!

• We have added a ton of Common relics and 4 new weapons. The aim of this addition is to create better synergies and increase the probability of them happening.

• You will find a nice variety of new boots, all of them related to dashes, with interesting features.

Yggdrasil

We've expanded Yggdrasil meta-progress with a new branch that offers a wide range of customization options. These new upgrades can be improved endlessly and are the perfect place to use those extra leaves or boost certain aspects of your survivors.

Remnants of Corruption DLC

We have made some changes to the Tower of Corruption:

• We have removed all corruption obtained through the Tower's meta-progress.

• Deities have been reworked with more interesting and powerful abilities.

Improvements

UI

We changed the display of some buttons. You can now access Yggdrasil, Relic Exchanger and Relic Ban though the Realm selection and not in the main menu. We thought this would be more intuitive and would free the main menu of so many buttons.

During runs, you can now expand the information of relics you come across with. The game will pause to showcase this info and also see the synergies with relics you already own.

Performance

We’ve made many performance improvements. Things should run smoothly on almost every device and the framerate is higher now. This has let us develop new features like the Lightning mode.
