Noir Tycoon changes
Below is a little preview of the new features. First, we’d like to introduce the car feature.
Currently, you can buy up to five different cars, which will then be parked in front of your headquarters. Depending on the car, your respect in the city will increase.
The cars can currently be customized in the “Speed” and “Armor” categories.
Armor: Reduces the chance that your crew members will be injured in a drive-by shooting.
Speed: Reduces the chance that you’ll be stopped or arrested by the SSU or police during a drive-by attempt.
The SSU, which now acts as a powerful adversary maintaining order, can inflict severe damage on your family.
Random events bring a new dynamic to the game. Don’t forget: Every decision has consequences later in the game.
Design:
Helicopters are now flying in the Noir City skyline and will become even more significant in the future.
Usability:
To simplify navigation, the Help window has been updated with a search bar and categories.
Bug Fixes:
The two bugs—the trading bug and the background music slider bug—have been fixed.
In the next development cycle, we’ll be focusing on the following two features:
Mafia Rank: As announced, we’ll be introducing a ranking system that starts at “Street Rat” and goes up to “Eternal Don.” Your current rank will be displayed in the HUD. Whether you win or lose the game, you’ll receive final statistics.
Mole Alert: Watch out for traitors! This feature will add even more drama to the game, and by the end, you might not be able to trust anyone anymore.
We’re also planning the following features:
- Car TheftIn the future, you’ll be able to steal cars from NPCs in the city and sell them with new paperwork or license plates—or after an expensive repaint—to earn a lucrative side income.
Business Specializations: As the Don, you’ll be able to choose between a bar (more loyalty), a casino (more income), or a nightclub (more respect) for each business.
- Assigning Crew Members to BusinessesYou can assign a crew member to a business to protect it. This means that this crew member will no longer be available for any further attacks or missions. The business receives a defense bonus.
Business Overview: Displays the income and costs per business so you can easily decide which business is the most profitable.
Business Models: In addition to the existing “Ownership” business model, we would like to introduce ‘Partnership’ and “Silent Stake”
Partnership: You receive regular protection money from this business. You must send a few employees to collect the money. This minimizes trouble. While the income isn’t high, it is stable and risk-free.
- Silent StakeThe boss receives a certain percentage of the revenue. The business is officially independent. Your involvement can be gradually increased and later converted into an “Ownership” or “Partnership.”
Good / Bad Morale: A meter will show you in the future whether you have good morale or are a ruthless gangster. This affects the game. Fortunately, as a gangster, you can clear your conscience by, for example, making a small donation to a hospital or the church.
Which feature are you most excited about? Which feature do you miss? Let’s discuss it in the comments!
Thank you so much for your support—and don’t forget to add Noir Tycoon to your wishlist. Every wishlist entry helps the project tremendously!
