Hi there! Over the past few days, I've been completely overhauling the AI opponents, and it seems like they're in a good state now.
Here's how it works now:
Clusters of buildings are identified. Those with houses are rated better—trolls can smell dwarves!
If a troll doesn't see anything interesting (trolls have a field of view and react accordingly), it heads towards the best cluster of buildings.
If a building is within a troll's field of view, the troll will attack it.
If a wall is within a troll's field of view, the troll will attack it.
If a troll sees a building but a wall blocks its path, it will try to go around it. If there's no gap in the wall within its field of view, it will destroy the wall first.
This should make troll behavior a bit more predictable and enjoyable. No more searching for a gap in the wall from the other end of the map!
