About 7 months ago, we had an idea and a paper prototype. We've come a long way since then It's now been a little over two weeks since we launched the trailer and steampage, and we're so grateful to everyone who's chosen to follow us so far! We also made a trip to gamescom, so it's been an intense few weeks, but now we're back to developing the game :D Here's a little summary of what's happened in the past few weeks!
The trailer and steampage announcement was picked up and posted about at least 150 different places, including IGN, Gamereactor, the Bleeding Cool and gamer.no. This felt huge to us!
The trailer has been seen at least 12k times on youtube, and we don't even know how many has watched it other places. Definetly worth the sleepless nights we had making it. The comment section was also a fun read! Apparently, people gel with the tax-rebellion theme. Except for those who don't 😂
Chris, our creative lead, went to gamescom! We met with a few publishers and investors and got a positive response, which was a nice surprise. We're staying independent for now tho 😎 Also played some awesome games! If you like medieval stuff, check out Medieval Frontiers and Half Sword to name a few!
Did you know the game has Defense Grid-like mechanics? Enemies seek out your farms food store and pick up goods to carry away as royal taxes. You have a chance to stop them before they escape the map with it by ramming them with your goat-mount! We worked on polishing this tithe-reclaiming mechanic, making sure goat-ramming enemies feels satisfying with some nice physics simulations 🎇
We made some progress on a somewhat boring, but essential feature.. Saving the game!
Finally, we said farewell to William, our art intern who's been with us for the past six months and made an immense contribution to the game and making it look as good as it does. Godspeed, William!
