Gameplay
addedIn our next text devlog I’d like to talk a bit about the progress. Even though I would like to make a new video devlog on our YouTube channel, we are currently working on some critical features, therefore I have to stick to text devlogs for a while because a video devlog takes more time to create. However, text devlogs are also better at showing animations and artwork which you’ll see more in a second.
changedThese gods are part of the faction gameplay which is pretty cool which can lead to wars and player base attacks, and which also allows you to interact with faction governors, say, if you, as a human, try to befriend an alien faction, or if you try to marry the governor’s daughter. Yes, all factions have preferences, so alien factions, for instance, hate all humans. Playing as an alien can be therefore challenging. It is not impossible to befriend human factions but harder. Same if you play a Giant (“Risar” or “Giants” faction) or one of the elves-like “Wardens” who are suspicious of all machinery, especially alien mechs and laser guns, of course.
changedTo me it is also impressive how much better we get every month at creating voxel buildings and structures. Yes, some voxels are functional and have logic, i.e. chests or microwave, while others are pure decoration (unless we change it in the future).
changedAnd, yep, it is relatively easy to create your own buildings, using the in-game building tool. If you want to create an entirely custom world with custom textures and all, modding is your friend. In Nimoyd, voxel modding is as simple as in Minecraft, though we have more complex voxel mechanics, of course, as you can create not only 1x1x1 voxels (like Minecraft) but complex doors, walls, windows, or even paintings of, say, 4x5x1.
addedAnd finally, some new animations that I did not show before.

As you know, Nimoyd is a “survival RPG” (or “hero survival”, as we call it) where you slay bosses and clear dungeons in a procedurally generated world, but it is also about base building, farming, and life sim (to some degree).

I thought that it might be cool if we take a look at what we are currently working on which is the factions and nations mechanics, as well as the dungeons, and of course more animations and other cool assets.
For instance, this is one of the dungeon entries which leads to the underground dungeons. The dungeons have different difficulty levels. If you are more interested in dungeons, please check our YouTube channel for old content or comment, and I'll try to show dungeons next time.
And this fellow is an Underlord Altar which allows you to pray to the evil Underlord who rules over the night and the underworld.
There is a whole sacrifice game mechanic behind rituals gifts to other gods too, as you probably reckoned by the look of another screenshot.
