As always, thank you all very much for the support the game is getting. We’ve made the most out of this year’s GameGen fest (Virtual Soul, URJC) to introduce new changes on Nightpyre’s public demo revolving around a remastered tutorial and game progression. Meanwhile, we keep on developing Nightpyre from the shadows, preparing many surprises that we’ll be showing when the right time comes. Follow us if you want to know more!
Main changes
The tutorial has been simplified and a new section has been added to make sure the player possesses the basic knowledge about spellcasting before getting to the first level.
The demo’s progression has been redesigned: instead of presenting all mechanics in the tutorial, the player will unlock them by completing levels. After finishing the first one they will get access to residual magic. After the second, the electric element and elemental fusion.
The visibility of some rooms has been improved, mainly by relocating props.
Some rune signs have been lowered so the combinations can be seen while the notes are opened.
Some English dialogues have been fixed.
Other changes
Some interface elements have been modified and altered according to the new tutorial.
The enemies’ health has been rebalanced according to the new progression.
Some undesired interactions on minor pyres have been fixed.
Some fire spells did not properly follow the option’s volumes. This issue has been fixed.
- A new interactable prop has been introducedthe explosive barrel. It only appears in the new tutorial section.
The main menu now shows the current demo version.
We hope you enjoy this new perspective on the demo!
