Night of the Wererat changes
Dear Players,
I wanted to take a moment to apologize for the lack of updates to the game. I know quite a few people are wondering what the future awaits for Night of the Wererat and if there is more content or updates on the horizon. I'm pleased to announce that I do plan on adding more content to the game, but they are fairly large, so I would like to break down some of the planned changes.
Story
A brand new story with a more serious twist from the original.
The original story will still be playable and will slowly incorporate the planned gameplay and AI changes.
Gameplay
A larger variety of puzzles and gadgets that plays along with the new story that will give the player an edge against their battle with the Wererat.
Stealth, the ability to hide in closets, trashcans, behind counters, doors, and desks to avoid a gruesome end. Keep your lights off and utilize the shadows.
Improved cutscenes that add more value to the opening, ending, and chase sequences.
Total overhaul of current menus with more settings options.
Wererat
A new brain that will allow the Wererat to behave more like a traditional chaser. The rat will take advantage of the power of sight and hearing to determine where you might be hiding.
Reactions to noise and other events, so move quietly.
Ability to search in closets, trashcans, and other hiding places to kill a player.
Map
Another area to explore.
Redesign of the house to remove dead ends, incorporate new mechanics and story elements.
Larger basement.
Endings
Two new endings, a death and a story ending.
Massive changes to the original three endings. The player, Investigator, will have the option to leave the supernatural scene up to a certain point. Or continue and discover all the secrets that caused a family to be torn to shreds.
Where Are We At?
The first step in my plans is to create the mechanics that are required in this new update. This ranges from the newer gadgets to the puzzles and of course the rat. Once the mechanics are implemented, I can begin working on the map redesign and the new area and slowly build the story elements into the world.
