Clabber Town lasted until 1903, when its one and only mention in a New York newspaper printed its name as Clabberton. This name caught on for some reason (possibly because the folk figured a New York newspaper knew what was best) and in a few short months all the signs were changed – though it is said that somewhere down Drab Dairy Road a "Clabber Town" sign still exists, maybe near the old buckeye tree named Wilford.
