Roadmap Post-1.0 & Leaderboard Contest Wrap-up

DEAR NEWSBEARERS!

In the last few weeks, we addressed the current state of the game by releasing updates and fixes, but we’ve also been looking toward the future of News Tower. Today, we'd like to show you a more concrete plan for 2026 & 2027.

Roadmap 2026-27

As you can see, "The Press Rolls On" was only the first of multiple major updates planned for 2026. Some features are already being worked on, while others are still on the drawing board, but we are already very excited about the future of the game.

Summer 2026:

• Some new objects specific to Europe

• Supplementary desk balancing

• New traits

• A few new Achievements

• Minor QoL

Autumn 2026:

• New continent (Middle & South america) with its own new telegrapher desk.

  • With new spawn points on the globe. News from 1931 to 1939.

• 6 New objects: Middle & South-America themed and found via news items

• New quests

• Some QoL

Winter 2026:

• Adding some Canada and Alaska Spawn spots on the map and generating some items for them.

• Weather effect in winter

• New traits

• New Achievements

And yes, a major DLC is planned for next year! No spoiler though, even the best reporters won't find out!

Leaderboard Launch Contest Wrap-up

If you remember, in December of last year, we ran a Leaderboard Contest, rewarding the best players in each category and game mode. It took a lot of time to narrow down the winners; some would not reply to our messages or simply weren't interested in the rewards (crazy, right?). But we did it!

A few weeks ago, we managed to finalize our list of 12 confirmed winners. As promised, we invited them all to draft their very own stories to bring into the game, which is exactly what we included in our last update.
