changedJust to let the people out there know, we are a team of four but only two of us do the actual programming and game development work in Unreal. One of us is the more business minded, takes care of finances/taxes and the last one is doing the social media and the actual network architect/engineer guiding the programmers on making sure what we're doing is something that would be seen in the real world.
changedWe are polishing up the demo level now. The Demo level will only release with cabling at first and a later update will include some basic network CLI functions.

changedYes that is correct! We are programming the Ethernet model in C++ and have successfully programmed Ethernet Frames. Our focus in Layer 2 at first and then work on getting Layer 2 protocols working, then work on the next layer in the stack, Layer 3.

It's been awhile since we've done a dev update and figured we are overdue.

We know people are chomping at the bit for the game and we are so happy to see the response we have. Over 10,000 of you have wishlisted the game and that's WAY beyond our expectations. (Honestly we were thinking we'd be lucky to have 100).

Just to let the people out there know, we are a team of four but only two of us do the actual programming and game development work in Unreal. One of us is the more business minded, takes care of finances/taxes and the last one is doing the social media and the actual network architect/engineer guiding the programmers on making sure what we're doing is something that would be seen in the real world.

So here is where we are at with the game:

We are polishing up the demo level now. The Demo level will only release with cabling at first and a later update will include some basic network CLI functions.

Save Game states is working! Cables, Level state, player position, and inventory, all saved!

In network CLI news:

Layer 1 and Layer 2 successfully modeled and implemented. Devices in game can generate, transmit and consume Ethernet Frames from source to destination ports, and the destination DeviceOS can consume them and act on them.

Yes that is correct! We are programming the Ethernet model in C++ and have successfully programmed Ethernet Frames. Our focus in Layer 2 at first and then work on getting Layer 2 protocols working, then work on the next layer in the stack, Layer 3.
